    There are still problems on the A14 this morning, one lane is blocked on the westbound carriageway between junction 39 for Kentford and junction 38 for the A11.

    It's because of an accident between a car and a lorry.

    A Peterborough choir is celebrating after winning a gold medal at a top singing competition.

    Rhapsody Chorus, external, a four-part ladies harmony group, say they're "over the moon" to have been crowned the best small chorus at the Quartet of Nations. 

    They're hoping to sing at a special convention in Las Vegas next year but have to be placed in the top five in the world and they've got to wait a little bit longer for that result.

    The Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough remains closed this morning after a police incident. 

    It's been closed since 05:00 and there's now queuing traffic and long delays in both directions between junction 7, Oxney Road and junction 8 of the Parkway. 

    Congestion is also at junction 4 of the Parkway, to the A15 Paston Parkway junction and the A47 junction and on Oxney Road to the Parnwell Way.

    The US solider who's handed her gold medal won at the Invictus games to Papworth hospital says she did it because "they absolutely saved my life and I can't thank the UK enough for having that kind of medical support and taking such good care of me."

    Sgt Elizabeth Marks gave her medal to Prince Happy after the Cambridgeshire hospital saved her life two years ago. 

    She paid tribute to the NHS, saying: "What you're doing is wonderful."

    The college says it's delighted to welcome Martina Navratilova because she highlights the value placed on excellence in all fields - including sport.  

    She'll give a talk about her career and life to students and alumnae at a sold-out event this evening.

    Today is the first day in the job for the new police and crime commissioner for Cambridgeshire.

    Jason Ablewhite officially took over from Sir Graham Bright this morning who didn't restand for election after four years in the post. 

    Mr Ablewhite, a former food industry senior manager who retired in 2015 to concentrate on politics. He's been a councillor in St Ives, where he lives, since 2005.

    A study carried out by Cambridge University has found less well educated people living in neighbourhoods full of takeaways may be particularly unhealthy.

    The research was carried out across Cambridgeshire, and found that people from more deprived backgrounds are likely to eat more takeaway food and to be overweight.

    The team at the Centre for Diet and Activity Research (CEDAR) used data from 6,000 Cambridgeshire adults, aged between 29 and 62.

  9. Invictus Games gold medal winner gives award to Papworth Hospitalpublished at 09:05 British Summer Time 12 May 2016

    A US soldier whose life was saved at Papworth Hospital has given her Invictus Games gold medal to Prince Harry to return it to the medical team that treated her.

    Sergeant Elizabeth Marks was treated in Cambridgeshire on the eve of the first games for injured military and veterans in 2014, when she collapsed with a serious lung condition. 

    Now, after winning 100m freestyle gold, she said: "I'll never be able to repay the wonderful staff, but I hope this medal will find its way back to you at Papworth."
