    Oh dear.

This is what happened when a Peterborough pup called Dennis tried to escape through a tumble dryer vent.

The 12-week-old American bulldog-cross Staffordshire bull terrier may have been trying to get outside to play when he got wedged, his owner said.

Firefighters had to use a hammer and chisel to widen the hole and release him.

And you'll be glad to hear - he's paw-fectly fine.

  9. Park and ride £1 charge debated after drop in passengerspublished at 09:08 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2017

The county council's meeting later to discuss whether it should drop the £1 parking charge at the five park and ride sites it runs near Cambridge.

It was introduced in 2014 to meet the £1m the council says it costs annually to maintain the sites.

However, bus operator Stagecoach has reported a 14% drop in people using the service since the charge came in.

The council admits its ticket machines - which initially caused lengthy queues at the sites - "have proved more complex and unpopular than originally envisaged, we believe contributing to the drop in patronage".

If councillors opt to drop the charge, that £1m will have to come from somewhere else, they say.

Proposed options include taking money from on-street parking, the council running park and ride buses themselves or "cuts elsewhere within services".

If they reach a decision, we'll let you know what it is.

Volunteers have been busy raising funds to repair that, but now, it's been attacked again.

Trees have been snapped, backs of benches and fencing rails sawn through, and the safety ropes in a play area have been cut.

This is a waxwing, feasting on yummy berries near the Cambridge Science Park guided bus stop.

If you want to join the birdwatchers who've taken a liking to these feathered friends from abroad, here's what to look for, according to David Heath from Cambridgeshire Bird Club:

    • They're about the size of a starling, so firstly, make sure what you're looking at isn't actually a starling...
    • Waxwings are pinky-buff coloured with "a really nice crest" on their heads
    • Look for a black chin and black "eye mask"
    • The tip of its tail is dipped in yellow and "its wings are the ones that give it its name - they've got yellow and white on, and little red feathers at the ends which give the appearance of being dipped in wax"

"They're really nice and they've caused quite an attraction," Mr Heath added.

"I saw a couple of birdwatchers from King's Lynn the other day, so they're travelling from quite a distance to see them."

"We take all reports of prejudice incidents extremely seriously and anyone with information should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously," a police spokesman said.

The graffiti comes just days after about 30 anti-Semitic flyers were put on car windscreens at Cambridge University's Sidgwick site.

They apparently came from a Holocaust-denial group that has targeted a number of university campuses across the world.

Research fellow Dr Edward Anderson, who found one on his car, said he was "shocked and disgusted" by the content of the leaflet.

A university spokeswoman said staff immediately removed them, adding: "The University of Cambridge does not tolerate discrimination in any form. We are an inclusive community that welcomes staff, students, alumni, collaborators and visitors from a wide variety of backgrounds, including people of all faiths and none."
