    Expect more showers this evening with some maybe heavy but most places should be dry by morning.

    Overnight temperatures will vary significantly and depend on how much cloud cover there is, 7C to 10C (45F-50F) is expected under cloudy skies but where we get any breaks we could see something as low as 3C (37F).

    Mist and fog patches are also likely.

    Tuesday will see any overnight mist and fog eventually clearing to leave a largely dry day with highs of around 18C (64F).

  3. City trials no charge for bulky rubbish removalpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 18 September 2017

    Not charging residents for the disposal of bulky waste items in order to prevent fly-tipping is being trialled in Peterborough.

    Peterborough City Council clears around 800 fly-tips every month costing more than £200,000 annually - money which it says could otherwise be spent on vital public services.

    On three days in September and October residents will be able to get rid of large household items, like mattresses and fridges, for free, external in six locations around the city.

    The council will also be trialing free bulky waste collections at a date to be set.

    Evidence will be collected to assess the impact the free scheme has on the number of fly-tipping incidents.

    Councillor Irene Walsh said: "We are doing our bit with the [#LovePeterborough] campaign and free bulky waste collections, but we also need residents and businesses to play their part and keep the streets clean."

    Comedian John Oliver has won two Emmy Awards at a ceremony in Los Angeles.

    Oliver, who went to Mark Rutherford school in Bedford, beat off competition from James Corden to win Best Variety Talk Series for "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, external".

    He also won the award for Best Writing.

    Earlier this year Oliver took a satirical look, external at the town where he spent his formative years.

    He left school to go onto Christ College, Cambridge, becoming a member of Cambridge Footlights, external, the university's amateur theatrical group.

    The war on fly-tipping in Peterborough enters a new battle today.

    It's being dubbed #LovePeterborough and the new campaign by the city council aims to rid the city of unsightly fly-tipping and encourage people to dispose of their waste responsibly.

    The authority says it clears around 800 fly-tips every month costing more than £200,000 annually - "money which could otherwise be spent on vital public services", a spokesman said.

    Irene Walsh, cabinet member for communities, said: "We hope with the help from the public - who know how to report these incidents to us - we can encourage all our residents to #LovePeterborough., external"

    Police are investigating after Conservative MP for South Cambridgeshire - Heidi Allen - says she has received death threats on social media.

    She was speaking after a BBC Radio 5 Live survey revealed 87% of MP's were on the receiving end of some form of abuse during the 2017 general election.

    More than a third of the UK's 195 female MPs took part in the research.

    Meanwhile a Labour campaigner in Cambridge believes one in 50 households abuse political party members when out campaigning.

    Heidi Allen believes social media is the worst culprit for abuse: "People do hide on social media.

    "I call them keyboard warriors. I've had death threats by email and threats of physical violence."
