There'll be a few clear spells at first tonight where it will turn a little chilly, but thickening cloud will eventually bring outbreaks of rain from the west.

Southerly winds will strengthen during the early hours, with temperatures initially falling to 8C (46F) but becoming milder by dawn.

There'll be a sunny start to Saturday morning, with just a few isolated showers, but these will become more widespread as cloud builds through the day.

Windy with southwesterly winds gusting 40-50mph during the afternoon, temperatures peaking at 16C (61F).

The search for Corrie Mckeague, last seen on a night out in Suffolk in 2016, is to resume on Monday.

The resumption of the search for missing airman Corrie Mckeague will take place on Monday, 23 October.

The extended search, which is likely to take around four to six weeks, will concentrate on an area of Cell 22 next to the site of the earlier search.

The indications are this is the next most likely area where Corrie could be, say police.

The Major Investigation Team re-checked data and concluded the area of the original 20-week search was still the location where there was the highest likelihood of finding Corrie.

However, police say the nature of waste disposal and its movement is not a precise science, hence the requirement to extend the search.

On 21 July, police announced their search of the Milton site was at an end.

Mr Mckeague's family said at the time they were "devastated" by the decision.

The search of the Milton landfill site in Cambridgeshire for missing RAF Honington serviceman Corrie Mckeague will resume on Monday.

There's a yellow weather warning in place for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire tomorrow as Storm Brian moves across the UK.

The Met Office says there's likely to be strong winds between 04:00 and 23:59.

The warning says: "Some transport disruption is likely across the whole warning area, with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.

"Short term loss of power and other services is also possible, as well as damage to trees."

There will be buses to replace train journeys affected by works on Lincolnshire's railways this weekend.

Work on a railway bridge between Spalding and Sleaford and on the Lincoln Eastern Bypass will disrupt journeys:

• On Saturday 21, October, Sunday, 22 October and Monday, 23 October there will be a rail replacement service between Spalding, Sleaford and Lincoln. Trains will operate between Peterborough and Spalding.
• On Tuesday, 24 October, trains between Lincoln and Peterborough will operate between Lincoln and Sleaford only. A rail replacement service will operate between Sleaford, Spalding and Peterborough.

Police are now able to issue fines to street drinkers, move them on and confiscate their alcohol in three areas of Wisbech.

Similar Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) have been rolled out elsewhere in Cambridgeshire in recent years.

In Peterborough they cover New England, Millfield and parts of the city centre while in Cambridge, the PSPO for Mill Road Cemetery, Petersfield Green and the front garden of Ditchburn Place was brought in nearly 18 months ago.

Diana Cook, chair of the Friends of Mill Road Cemetery, said it seems to have worked there:

"I think it was a place lots of people felt threatened by.

"Parents walking their children home from school felt uncomfortable by lots of people sitting on benches getting very drunk and throwing cans into the shrubbery.

"18 months on I think the PSPO has had a really positive effect.

"There was quite a good presence of PCSOs coming around talking to drinkers and now you don't see people sat around drinking, so yes I think it's made a big difference."

New powers to try and limit street drinking in parts of Wisbech have come into force today.

The Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) allows police to confiscate alcohol and fine people in three street drinking hotspots - Tillery Fields, St Peter's Church Gardens (pictured) and the memorial garden in The Crescent.

David Oliver, Conservative Councillor in charge of Community Safety on Fenland District Council, said: "We are introducing the PSPOs to respond to areas of need in Wisbech that have been impacted by alcohol misuse and harm.

"It will form part of our wider partnership work as it is essential we continue to address this complex issue through both enforcement and ongoing support to alleviate it long-term and ensure people are able to feel safe and enjoy the town."

A car fire brought traffic to a halt on the A14 during the Friday morning rush hour.

Two crews were called to the blazing vehicle on the eastbound stretch between Girton and Histon at about 07:50.

With two of the three lanes closed off, traffic quickly backed up, with surrounding roads also busy as motorists sought out alternative routes.

Highways England says the road is now fully open but there are still "long delays" in the area.

No-one was injured in the incident, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed.

A national discount store is hoping to move into an unused supermarket by the end of November.

It cost £22m to build a Tesco on the outskirts of Chatteris but it was later named as one of 49 planned stores to be cancelled after a fall in the supermarket's profits.

The site has been empty for the past three years but Poundstretcher is now close to taking over half of the unit, which is still owned by Tesco.

Poundstretcher said it would create 23 jobs - a mixture of part-time and full-time positions - and hoped the move would encourage another retailer to occupy the other half of the site.

Today I tried on an "age simulation suit".

It basically works by adding weight and stiffness to your body on places like your neck, elbows, waist, knees and ankles to simulate what happens to you as you get older.

Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge has been getting its staff to wear them along with goggles and ear muffs to replicate site and hearing problems.

Consultant geriatrician Stephen Wallis says it's all about working to keep patients "mobile" as it makes their staff empathise with older patients.

"We all understand on an intellectual level, some of the challenges and difficulties that older patients face, but there is nothing quite the same as wearing the suit and thinking twice before you get up and walk across the room because it's hard work," he said.

Cambridge University students are given "trigger alerts" that they might be upset by some text.

An 11-year-old girl has been involved in a "terrifying attack", according to Cambridgeshire Police.

They say the girl was walking home from school in the Love's Farm area of St Neots, when two men in a white van tried to steal her bag, at about 05:20 on Wednesday.

They don't believe it wasn't an attempted kidnap.

The men are described as in their 30s and wearing dark coloured beanie hats.

Extra patrols are taking place in the area to "provide reassurance to pupils and parents", police added.

The television presenter, Helen McDermott, has revealed she was sexually abused by a family friend when she was 12 years old.

"I was sexually abused by a member from the church... this is the first time I've ever mentioned it, it was something that you never talked about, I thought it was my fault," said Ms McDermott, who is a former presenter on television with Anglia TV and Mustard TV and on BBC Radio Norfolk.

"I was picked up, it was a friend of the family... I would never have talked about this until now, it has affected me all my life, there's no question about that."

Ms McDermott has spoken out, as part of the hashtag Me Too campaign, which has gained momentum after allegations of rape and sexual assault against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein surfaced.
