    Festival-goers can take advantage of some dry weather this evening with some late sunshine.

    And it's going to be dry on Sunday morning with some spells of sunshine although showers could spread in for a time during the afternoon, perhaps turning heavy and thundery.

    Organisers tell us they're set to break attendance-records given the weather and the strong musical line-up this evening.

    Of the 20,000 visitors last night, over half came on-site after 8pm.

    The Wombats headline the main stage tonight.

    We've been asking if you would pay to go to the Godiva Festival, external in view of cuts being made by the city council.

    Howard Selwyn said: We have the same in Birmingham, Sheldon, the Countryside festival next year is in doubt we have no money is the cry,. B. C. Council view if it good for the people, enjoyed, does good, stop it. The people can be deprived.

    Most people I've been asking would be prepared to pay to come to the Godiva Festival in future, as the council says it can't guarantee funding for it.

    There should be no need to get a parking ticket , external(see 12.53 update) if you are going to the Godiva Festival.

    There's free car parking on the site off Leamington Road and there's a regular bus service going past the War Memorial Park.

    Plus, it's a 15 minute walk from the city centre and 10 minutes from the station.

    The city council says it can't sustain previous levels of investment in the Godiva Festival.

    The total cost of running the festival last year was £465,000 with the council contributing £297,000 of that, and the balance of costs being met through sponsorship and other income.

    It says there is no ring-fence budget to support the festival in 2016, but are looking at various options including more sponsorship or only running it every other year.
