    A 26 year-old man, wanted by officers in Coventry, has been arrested at Luton Airport, external.

    Liberato Galiazia from Naples was wanted in connection with an assault on a 21-year-old woman in the Wood End area of Coventry that left her jaw broken in three places.

  5. Trial begins for Coventry children's home abuse accusedpublished at 12:40

    A trial has started today for two men accused of a number of physical and sexual abuse offences against children at a former Coventry children's home.

    Kenneth Owen, 70, from Dickon Hill Road, Lincolnshire and Alan Todd, 70 from Stretton-under-Fosse in Warwickshire are accused of abuses at Wisteria Lodge in the 1980s.

    The home was owned by Coventry City Council and was closed and demolished a few years ago.

    Thousands of new jobs could be created at Jaguar Land Rover after it announced plans to expand its research and development centre at Whitley.

    It's thought JLR's investment in the plans is likely to top £500m, including a new 60-acre site South of Whitley.

    A planning application is expected to be submitted to Coventry City Council and Warwick District Council by 8 February.

    The ashes of "Mr Coventry Speedway" Nigel Boocock, described as one of the best riders ever, have been interred at the club's track.

    Nigel Boocock, from Yorkshire, competed in 748 matches for Coventry Bees in 18 consecutive seasons in the 1960s and 70s.

    Known as "Little Boy Blue" because of the colour of his leathers, Boocock died in Australia last April.

    The former Chairman of Coventry City Football Club, Mike McGinnity, has died.

    Mr McGinnity was a member of the Sky Blues' board for 14 years and became chairman in January 2002.

    During his chairmanship, he steered Coventry away from the edge of financial oblivion while at Highfield Road and was appointed an OBE in 2008.

  16. David Bowie dies of cancer aged 69published at 09:32

    Singer David Bowie has died at the age of 69 following an 18-month battle with cancer.

    His son director Duncan Jones confirmed the news and a statement was released on his official social media accounts.
