    Police say 24 graves in Chaddesden have been damaged by "disrespectful" vandals who spray painted words and pictures over gravestones.

    Sgt Nick Beeston said they thought it happened some time between 16:00 on Monday and 11:00 today when the damage was discovered.

    The Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Queen's Hospital where Daniel Elton was treated, said they were unable to comment on the details of his care.

    A representative said: "We would encourage the Elton family to contact us so that we can discuss any concerns they have directly."

    Julian Elton says his son, Daniel, didn't have enough energy to walk on the day they took him into hospital, and was struggling to breathe as they drove him home.

    "I can't bear life not knowing what killed my son," he said.

    A post mortem examination was being carried out today.

    The parents of a teenager who died hours after being discharged from hospital have been telling the BBC they feel his condition was never properly diagnosed.

    Daniel Elton from South Derbyshire had been suffering stomach problems for months and went into Queens Hospital in Burton last Thursday with a low blood count.

    He was sent home the next day and died on Saturday morning.

    It was the night a woman was attacked in her Shirley Common home during a robbery causing the injuries below.

  13. Arrests made after woman tied up and robbedpublished at 15:06

    An investigation in to a shocking robbery where 62-year-old June Shaw (pictured) was dragged across the floor and tied up in her home seems to be going in the right direction.

    Police have arrested a man and a woman, both from Barnsley, on suspicion of the robbery in Shirley Common last month.

    They were bailed but police have also released CCTV, external of another man they think might help their investigation and have offered a £10,000 reward for information.
