FacebookWe've been reporting on inflation-busting increases in the cost of parking in Derby, external planned by the city council.
Reaction has been coming in via the BBC Radio Derby Facebook, external page, and Keith Jackson said: "All they'll achieve is even fewer people visiting Derby. The council tried this sort of thing about ten years ago when they also said the income wasn't sufficient.
"They jacked up the prices, many fewer people used the car-parks, and at the end of the year income had barely changed, if not fallen."
And Janet Morley posted: "There are lots of authorities offering free parking to encourage shoppers. Will the city council ever learn?"

The city council says budget cuts mean they're now considering four radical proposals to reduce the cost of running the buildings.
One would see them left unstaffed, with CCTV used to ensure members of the public are safe, while another option would mean some libraries would shut.
The consultation closes on 19 February next year.

A national newspaper report today suggested the extra unpaid time taken for "rigorous" compulsory searches meant workers were paid less than the minimum wage.

The event at the Stafford Showground has been organised by police and will highlight the forms slavery takes, including people trafficking and forced labour.

BBC Radio DerbyA man from Derby has been questioned and bailed pending further inquiries after Trading Standards officers seized illegal goods valued at £1m in Derbyshire.
It's one of the UK's biggest ever such hauls, consisting of nearly two million illegal cigarettes and 580kg of tobacco which were found by police in South Derbyshire while they were inspecting six units on a self-storage site.
Other goods discovered included 31,000 Viagra-type tablets, 60 items of counterfeit clothing and 30 boxes of illegally stored display fireworks.

BBC Radio Derby newsreaderFirefighters were called to East Midlands Airport last night, following reports of a distress call from a plane.
The crews from Leicestershire returned to base after the aircraft landed safely at about 20:00.
Flybe says there was a suspected technical fault during the flight from Belfast and as is common practice in such situations the airport had emergency vehicles on standby as a precaution.
