    The Millers play in the eighth-tier Northern Premier League Division One North and had lost all of their league and cup games this season.

  5. Man in custody after woman attacked in Derbypublished at 12:00

    A man's been arrested after a woman told officers she was assaulted on a footbridge, external in Derby.

    A 28-year-old woman was walking along a bridge that crosses the A38, linking Broadway to the University of Derby grounds, when she was approached by a man who assaulted her at about 18:00 yesterday.

    Police say she suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

  8. Missing teenager 'could be in Derby'published at 10:54

    Police say concerns are growing for missing 15-year-old, external Ebony Williams, who was last seen at Asda in Long Eaton on Monday.

    She's white, 5ft 11ins tall, and of slim build, with straight black shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a grey and black top with writing on, black jeans, black Nike trainers and a black jacket.

    It's thought Ebony could be in the Derby area.

  9. Tennis coach optimistic after Konta runpublished at 10:40

    Becky Williams, who plays for Derbyshire ladies and coaches at Church Broughton Tennis Club, says Johanna Konta's success at the Australian Open is extremely encouraging.

    She said: "We've not had that British lady to look up to in tennis and I think now what we've got to try and do is use Konta to get the next generation playing, get girls playing tennis, because this proves that you can do it, you know, hard work and she's a great role model for British tennis now."

    Unseeded Johanna Konta (pictured) finally bowed out of the tournament today at the semi-final stage but it's her legacy that could now reap dividends for the women's game domestically.

    Becky Williams plays for Derbyshire ladies and coaches at Church Broughton Tennis Club, and says Konta's made rapid progress since reaching the quarter-finals of the Nottingham Open last year.

    The leader of a Derbyshire council has survived an attempt to force him out of office.

    Amber Valley's Conservative leader Alan Cox was accused by Labour of a failure of leadership.

    But the Conservative majority on the council meant the attempt failed. Mr Cox described the motion as "childish".

    Brian Blessed has been visiting the Peak District to launch a fundraising event to maintain the Monsal Trail, which goes from Buxton to Bakewell. 

    He said: "I think we all need the wilderness and I think more and more with our technology we can be really servants to it, and we all need 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness.
