The actor and adventurer Brian Blessed says it's incredibly important to help protect the Peak District National Park by backing a fundraising walk this summer.

Walk in the Park will take place on 20 August along the Monsal trail.

All the money raised will be used to help meet the cost of maintaining the park's 34 miles of traffic-free trails.

There's been a renewed appeal for information on three men wanted in connection with a "terrifying" robbery in Ashbourne.

The raid, in September, saw a couple in their sixties tied up at their home in Ednaston by three men wearing balaclavas and armed with crowbars.

A reward of £10,000 is being offered by Crimestoppers.

A father accused with his two sons of killing a six-month-old baby and two teenagers in a fire at Langley Mill will continue to give evidence today.

Peter Eyre told the court he didn't know anything about the fire until the morning after it'd happened.

He denies murder, telling the court yesterday how he thought his sons planned to just "smash up" a car when he dropped them off outside the flat in June.
