    Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service says the most likely cause of a fatal fire in Morton on Wednesday was an electric heater.

    A 69-year-old man died in the blaze on Pilsley Road. 

    An investigation has found materials were left too close to the heater.

    Earlier I told you about Derby Teaching Hospitals featuring among the ten worst trusts for "bed blocking".

    I've now received a statement from the trust on the figures.

    A spokesman said: “These figures are from November, and our performance has improved since then. There are many challenges involved in transferring patients who no longer need acute care home or to other places of care where appropriate support is in place. 

    "We have been working closely with our partners to address these challenges. We continue to work flexibly using a multi-disciplinary approach to help those patients who have continuing care needs. 

    "This winter, we have increased capacity on our Virtual Ward, which provides care at home for patients who are fit to leave hospital, and we have commissioned additional nursing home beds, for patients who need support with ongoing care needs.”

    A man from Derbyshire is among ten men convicted of committing serious sexual offences against young girls in Rochdale.

    Most of the offences took place between 2004 and 2008 when the victims were aged 13 to 23.

    A teenage girl, raped by all ten men, contacted police after the 2012 convictions of nine Asian defendants for grooming white girls in the town.

    Forty-six year old David Law, from Colmanhay Road, in Ilkeston, was convicted of conspiracy to rape.

    Police are concerned about 15-year-old Charlie Wakefield who has gone missing from his home in Derby. , external

    He was reported missing on Tuesday, he returned home briefly the next day before leaving again.

    It's thought he may be in the Alvaston area of the city.

    Derby County's Richard Keogh says the Rams need to be bolder in their approach against Fulham this weekend.

    He told the club's website, external: “Teams are coming with a different plan having played us once. It’s a compliment to us that teams who play us are more defensive, but we have got to be a bit more fluid at times and be a bit braver."

    Speaking about the identification of Mostafa Khaziravi's body, Det Ch Insp Dave Giles of Staffordshire Police, has given his condolences to the man's family. 

    He says: "The circumstances in which they lost a member of their family are tragic, although we are pleased to have been able to give them some answers as to what happened to him. 

    "We have now been able to formally identify both of the males found in a crate at Ferroli. The body of the other male,  teenager Khalid Sorki, has already been conveyed back to his family in the Turkmen Valley area of Afghanistan. "Identifying the two males and returning them to their bereaved families was our priority. 

    "The investigation is now concentrated on identifying the person or persons who helped them to conceal themselves in a crate amongst a delivery load and who may be facilitating the illegal movement of people into the UK."

    The bed blocking figures for Derby Teaching Hospitals put the trust in the top 10 worst in England.

    Lord Carter, who carried out the review into hospital savings said bed-blocking was a "major problem" causing operations to be cancelled and resulting in the NHS paying private hospitals to see patients.

    Union Union said cuts to social care were a major cause.

    The second of two bodies found at industrial premises in Staffordshire has been identified using DNA provided by a relative, police have revealed. 

    Mostafa Khaziravi was 27 and from the city of Ahvaz, in Southern Iran. 

    His body and that of Khalid Sorki, aged 16 or 17, were inside a crate when it was discovered at the Ferroli premises near Burton upon Trent in November. 

    Staffordshire Police say Mr Khaziravi was identified after a DNA sample was provided by his sister.

    A new running event has been launched at Donington Park by motorsport presenter Suzi Perry.

    The Donington Summer Running Festival will take place on Sunday 26 June and will include a 10-mile, 10k, 5k and a family mile.

    The day will be themed around motorsports, with a chequered flag to start the races and participants invited to refuel at pit stops around the course.
