Yesterday, under-fire Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley had this to say about his critic Ed Miliband:
“I think he ought to come see it for himself, come to work and he can do all the different jobs that I know how to do. He can pack in the warehouse, he can work in the office, he can work on the web, he can work on the processing, he can work on goods in, and what he will find is it is not Victorian practices."
Ed Miliband has now hit back, saying: “The downward spiral in the reputation of Sports Direct is down to the practices of Sports Direct. All of us that have drawn attention to these practices have been right to do so.”

I told you yesterday that work was starting to revamp The Spot in Derby city centre.
The area has been fenced off in readiness for the changes which will provide more space for street theatre, music and other events.
Peter Gadsby, from the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, says the revamp is a key part of the city's regeneration.
"The council made a bid, about £1.2m, to create a new vibrant centre in The Spot, which has been run down for some time, and this is a key objective in Derby city's masterplan to improve spaces and improve trading, he said."

This is what Harry Redknapp had to say about the prospect of extending his stay in charge of Jordan's national football team: "If we can win the games and everyone is happy I would love to come back.
"If we don't beat Bangladesh maybe the Prince will put me on the plane home.
"We have to make sure we win. At the moment, it's two games but we'll look to the future after these two games."
"It comes down to the players. I haven't got a magic wand, I can't come here and suddenly go 'we're going to play like Brazil'. If I can get another 5% to make the difference I'll be delighted," he added.

Derby County's new football adviser Harry Redknapp could be making more headlines over the next few days in his other role as manager of Jordan's national side.
The Press Association is reporting that Redknapp is open to extending his deal in the Middle East, but offered no promises of World Cup progress.
He signed a two-game deal to take control for World Cup qualifiers against Bangladesh on Thursday, and then Australia next Tuesday.
Jordan must win both matches to reach the third round of the Asian qualifying section, anything less would leave them reliant on other results to progress.

You've been responding on our Facebook page, external to the mix-up over the double yellow lines painted on Goodsmoor Road, which were subsequently removed.
Helen Austin said: "The double yellows should stay on Goodsmoor Road - nightmare for parked cars since the houses have been built."
And Lisa Booth Davis agreed posting: "Should have left them there, the parking is awful along that road. But that would be common sense, something our council doesn't seem to have."
And Jason Meyers asked: "How much did this cost council taxpayers? If I wasn't to pay my council tax, I would end up in court and probably a prison sentence, so does the same go to the person who wasted our hard earned cash too? Like to see if anyone will be accountable."

I mentioned earlier that the old Leaderflush Shapland site in Langley Mill is back in use, after the firm was bought by another company.
Andrew Waterhouse is the operations director at UK Fire Doors, which is employing 20 staff there, and previously worked at Leaderflush.
He said: "We believe the skills are based in that area and we think it would be a shame to lose those skills to the industry.
"We believe our business of UK Fire Doors will grow and is growing and we're seeing that anyway.
"And when we looked at the factory that we've got down there and the capacity that would give us, we thought it was best to take part of our business and put it into the old Leaderflush Shapland."

It's not the invitation that Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley wants sitting on his mantelpiece ... the venue: Westminster, the date: 7 June, the event: an appearance before MPs who sit on the cross party business committee.
Labour's Ian Wright chairs the select committee and complained in the House of Commons that Mr Ashley had said the order to attend the hearing was "an abuse of the parliamentary process" and had called the committee "a joke".
"I don't think scrutinising reports of Victorian-type employment conditions in modern day Britain is a joke."
Speaker John Bercow says the committee could take the matter further by asking the Commons to debate the case as a matter of privilege.
Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley could be forced to answer questions from a group of MPs investigating working conditions at his Derbyshire-based company, including the use of zero hour contracts.
The cross party business committee invited Mr Ashley to give evidence at Westminster on 7 June but the Newcastle United owner has indicated he won't appear.
The Commons Speaker, John Bercow, said select committees had the power to send for witnesses and said the proper procedures had been followed.
He said if Mr Ashley turned down the invitation to give evidence the committee could order him to appear, adding "the House expects witnesses to obey the committee's order to attend".
