    Police are investigating, external a glass attack that left a man with serious head injuries.

    It happened in the early hours of Saturday 16 April at Aruba in Corporation Street.

    One of the men involved broke a glass or bottle on the bar and threw it across the dance floor, hitting a 23-year-old man.

    His need stiches in his ear and has lost some hearing, police said.

    A young boy has been seriously injured after a crash with a motorbike in Staveley on Saturday.

    Derbyshire Police are appealing for witnesses , externalto the crash on the A619 Lowgates about 16:00 on Saturday.

    The boy was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, where he remains.

    The biker went to Northern General Hospital in the same city where his injuries are not thought to be life- threatening.

    A driver has been robbed of his car outside a fish and chip shop in Hasland, police have said., external

    It happened at about 22:30 on Friday in York Street.

    When The 37-year-old returned to his grey VW Golf and got in he was approached by two men.

    As he wound the window down, one of them punched him in the face and pulled him out of the car before they both got in the car and sped off.

    A woman who spent her life savings on dental implants that had to be taken out says she feels "butchered" by the dentist.

    Jackie Stokes, from Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, said she had spent £9,500 on implants in Hungary, but an inquiry found the treatment caused "irreversible damage" to healthy teeth.

    Dentist Dr Zsolt Csillag was given a one-year supervision order, external by the General Dental Council.

    He did not respond to attempts to contact him.
