    You've helped to raise more than £170,000 for the Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal in the year since he died.

    It's made Derbyshire the sun safe capital of the country and paid for things like the sun shade in Alvaston Park.

    Here's the moment Colin Bloomfield's mum Alison cut the ribbon on the officially renamed headquarters of BBC Radio Derby.

    Alison lost Colin and her husband Lawrie - who started BBC Radio Shropshire and guided it through its first nine years - within 11 months of one another.

    "His father would be so proud of him," she said.

    Work to repair the Queen's Leisure Centre roof in Derby is due to begin today.

    The main contract is expected to be signed with Bowmer and Kirkland early this week and once it's been signed, the cost of the work will be made public.

    The leisure centre was closed on Wednesday night over healthy and safety fears for its roof.

    Colin Bloomfield's mum Alison has travelled from Shropshire to unveil BBC Radio Derby HQ's new name, Bloomfield House.

    It's a year to the day that the presenter died aged 33 from skin cancer.

    On seeing the new gold lettered sign printed above the entrance, she said: "That is just amazing, I think I'm going to cry.

    "I'm so proud I really don't know what to say."

    Yesterday, a sun shade - funded by the Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal - was opened in his name at Alvaston Park.

    His mum Alison cut the ribbon to officially open it.

    She said: "This is something that's going to make a prevention rather than a cure. For that reason I'm really, really thrilled about it."
