    The rain will clear later leaving a dry night as well as some low cloud and hill fog, with a minimum temperature of 12C (54F).

    Tomorrow will be largely dry with sunny spells, although there's the risk of a shower, but it will feel warm in the sunshine, with a maximum temperature of 18C (64F).

    It's humble pie time for Shadow Europe Minister Pat Glass ... here is her apology in full: "The comments I made were inappropriate and I regret them.

    "Concerns about immigration are entirely valid and it's important that politicians engage with them.

    "I apologise to the people living in Sawley for any offence I have caused."

    There's plenty of enthusiasm for digging up ancient artefacts judging by the fact that organisers of an archaeological dig in Derby have been overwhelmed by people wanting to get involved.

    Volunteers have signed up for the dig in Chester Green and a number of young unemployed people will be working on the site this week.

    More now on the decision to close St John's Primary in Belper tomorrow because of a sickness bug, external ... head teacher Roger Averis hopes it will reopen on Monday.

     "I am confident it will be business as usual on Monday, but would urge parents to keep children who have been affected at home for 48 hours after their last bout of sickness."

    The school, in Laund Nook has 500 pupils, and three members of staff have been affected by the bug.

    More on the Little Eaton bus service ... Trent Barton says it's cutting the 9.2 route to improve punctuality and reliability for other, more popular routes.

    Jordan Kemp says they are trying to find a solution for the village and said: "Throughout the day they've still got the Amber Line, they've still got the sevens, which serves those areas quite well.

    Pupils at St John's Primary School in Belper have been told to stay at home on Friday while the school is deep cleaned to prevent a sickness bug spreading any further.

    Head teacher Roger Averis said: "On Wednesday, 48 children were absent from school, with the majority of parents saying this was due to their child suffering from a sickness bug.

    “I took immediate advice from the appropriate agencies and we believe the sickness is viral, which means it can be easily spread from pupil to pupil.

    “Following advice from Derbyshire Health and Safety and Public Health England yesterday and today I believe the best course of action to stop the bug spreading is to close the school on Friday and carry out a further deep-clean.

    “I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause due to the short notice but we do not want any more children becoming ill and want to ensure we do all we can to stop the bug spreading."

    We've just had some news in about St John's Primary School in Belper. It's going to be closed on Friday due to an outbreak of sickness.

    Head teacher Roger Averis said 48 children were absent on Wednesday with a bug which caused sickness and diarrhea and a further 38 became ill overnight.

    The school will be closed for a deep clean on Friday, to try to contain the bug.

    I’ve been with Labour’s EU Referendum battle bus this morning in Sawley, near Long Eaton. One of the passengers seems not to have enjoyed the entire visit.

    Labour's shadow Europe minister, Pat Glass, said: “The very first person I come to was a horrible racist. I’m never coming back to wherever this is.”

    The voter Mrs Glass had been speaking to denied being racist, but said he was concerned some of his Polish neighbours were "scroungers", who didn't work.

    Mrs Glass says immigration has been one of the main issues on the doorstep when she's been campaigning.
