    Derby City Council says it may take up to two weeks to evict travellers who've set up camp on Markeaton recreation ground.

    They were served with a notice to vacate the area by 13:30 yesterday, but didn't comply.

    A letter written by Lord Nelson on his flagship HMS Victory more than 200 years ago, which failed to sell when it went under the hammer in Derbyshire has been sold for £17,000 to a private buyer post-auction.

    The letter dated 28 April 1804 was written when Nelson was "attempting to lure the French and Spanish fleet out of Toulon to give battle" and was expected to fetch up to £30,000 at a Hansons auction in Etwall.
