    Sport Direct's warehouse at Shirebrook has become notorious for its working conditions. 

    At a Commons select committee hearing in June, Mike Ashley admitted many workers had earned less than the national minimum wage because of time spent at the end of their shifts being searched by security guards. 

    Now the Unite union says its members have backed a compensation deal which could be worth £1,000 for each worker.  

    But there was a warning that some agency staff may not get all the back pay they're owed.

    Owner Katie Dowler-Chell has said she was shocked by the attack on her cat (see 12:20).

    "They'd brutalised him," Ms Dowler-Chell told BBC East Midlands Today. 

    "I couldn't believe anyone would do that to him because he is such a gentle and loving cat."

    HM Revenue & Customs have spoken to the Guardian, external about the Sports Direct pay deal. 

    "While we don’t discuss individual cases we won’t accept anything less than what’s owed," a statement from HMRC said.
