    Mr Evans told the court earlier today he found the remark he made to police about women liking footballers because they were rich "cringe worthy".

    "At the time I was explaining to the officers, I was not expecting it to be read out in court. I don't think footballers are entitled to anything," he said.

    Mr Evans - who started his career at Manchester City - insists the complainant agreed to let him "join in" while she was having sex with Mr McDonald in the hotel room and denied trying to hide his face from CCTV cameras as he left.

    Chesterfield striker Ched Evans has told a court he would not "hurt a girl" at his retrial for rape.

    He denies raping a 19-year-old at a Premier Inn in Rhuddlan, Denbighshire, on 30 May 2011 and insists it was consensual sex.

    Police say the body was found by a member of the public yesterday afternoon.

    The lay-by is used by ramblers and dog walkers so officers want to speak to anyone who has been near there recently. , external

    They also want to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen someone starting a fire.

    A boy, 8, was kicked in the face by a jogger as he walked the family dogs with his mum. 

    One of the dogs ran near to the man and he swore and continued running.

    Minutes later, the man jogged toward the family again and kicked one of the dogs. 

    The boy went to see if the dog was injured and the man pushed him to the floor and kicked him in the mouth, causing minor injuries. The dog was uninjured.

    The Derby Telegraph's chief sports writer Steve Nicholson has been on BBC Radio Derby (yes we're all friends) speculating about what the future holds for Chris Powell at the Rams. 

    "I think the players are familiar with him as he has been there for a few months," Nicholson said. 

    "I'd still be saying to him 'go prove yourself' - he's more interim for me."
