    Uttoxeter's Adam Peaty will be officially appointed an MBE by the Queen at Buckingham Palace today.

    The 22 year-old former City of Derby swimmer, now with Loughborough, was named in the New Year Honours list, after bringing home gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

    Golfer Justin Rose will be among the other famous faces at the investiture ceremony. He's also being made an MBE.

    Police say they've arrested two people after a fatal crash on the A1 in Lincolnshire in the early hours of this morning.

    The incident happened just before 01.00 and involved a car and a lorry. Police say the investigation is still in its early stages.

    The road has been closed in both directions and police say the number and identity of the victims "are still being established".

    Two people who were travelling in the lorry have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    A charity is trying to save a service which provides free weekly health advice for farmers.

    Nurses carry out about 500 checks a year at the Newark Livestock Market but the project, which has been running for seven years, is under threat because NHS funding is being withdrawn,

    The charity Nottinghamshire Rural Support is now appealing for money to save the surgeries.

    Nurse Heather Dawes said: "What a lot of farmers say is, our service is where they come to work, it is easy for them to access it, they don't have to get changed into posh gear to go to the doctors, they don't have an appointment with me, they just turn up."

    Fears about crime and anti-social behaviour are being raised over plans for a new children's home in Beeston.

    At a meeting this evening, Broxtowe Borough Council will consider the proposal to convert a house on Meadow Road into a home for up to five 10 to 17-year-olds.

    A report recommends the plans are approved but neighbours are concerned.

    Monica, who lives nearby, said: "We don't know exactly what kind of behaviour we will have I am afraid, but then again it is not anything to do with the children, they may get a second chance."

    • Very slow traffic and traffic heavier than normal on the A60 Mansfield Road in Papplewick in both directions around Forest Lane.

    Leicestershire/Rutland

    • There's very slow traffic on the A606 from the A1 in Rutland to Melton Mowbray because the A1 is closed after a crash This is also causing congestion in Melton town centre.

    Derbyshire

    • Slow traffic on Ilkeston Road in Smalley in both directions.
    • Traffic heavier than normal on A617 Mansfield Road in Bramley Vale before M1 junction 29.

    Organisers of the Y Not Festival say they'll be making a number of improvements, external ahead of next year's event.

    The final day of this year's festival was cancelled because of the amount of mud at the site, near Matlock.
