    You could call this the A47 derby - well, that is the route that most of the Leicester fans will be taking on Saturday anyway.

    There will be a sell-out crowd at the ABAX Stadium and I think they are in for a decent game, because Peterborough are useful going forward.

    Leicester needed a replay to get past another League One side, Fleetwood, in round three.

    They were not at their strongest but they picked a team that got them through and I think Claude Puel will do the same here.

    Leicester do not have any relegation worries and this is their only chance of winning something this season - I just hope they have a proper go at it.

    Just 5% of adults in the East Midlands have first aid skills, according to the regional St John Ambulance.

    A recent survey found 95% of people here don't feel they have the knowledge or confidence to act in a life-threatening emergency.

    The organisation wants potentially life-saving skills to be made part of the school curriculum.

    Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has said doctors need to be able to reflect openly and freely about mistakes they have made.

    He was speaking following the case of Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba, who was struck off after being found guilty of the manslaughter by gross negligence of Jack Adock, from Glen Parva.

    Mr Hunt warned of the "unintended consequences" of the ruling.

    Patients would be safer if doctors were able to learn from mistakes, he told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

    Rolls-Royce says it is upgrading its Trent 1000 engines after reports that faults have grounded some Boeing Dreamliner planes.

    Boeing officials say they're working with the Derby-based company on durability problems with a large number of engines.

    They claim airlines using Dreamliners have seen some turbine blade faults.

    Rolls-Royce says work to upgrade them started last year, and they're working with operators to minimise disruption.

    A shopkeeper has said the local community is in shock over the suspected murder of a man, which is being linked to a break-in at a jewellery store (pictured).

    The man's body was found in a field in Stoughton on Thursday.

    Police said he had been taken against his will from the shop in Belgrave Road, Leicester, before his death.

    Paresh Raja, 60, who runs a fast food shop on the same street, said: "It's very frightening for this to happen on our doorstep.

    "He was a quiet gentleman who kept himself to himself. He was very softly spoken and nice natured.

    "We are all in a bit of a shock".

    Two snakes have been found dead in Langley Mill.

    The RSPCA said it was called on Wednesday after a dog walker spotted the two bodies under a hedge.

    The larger snake is a boa constrictor and the smaller snake is a royal python, the charity added.

    David Johnson-Hill, one of the organisation's inspectors, added: "We don’t know how long these poor snakes have been here, it is likely they were already dead when they were dumped.

    "It is especially distressing as we had heavy snow on Sunday."

    The death of a man whose body was found in a field in Stoughton yesterday is being treated as murder, external.

    The man, who was found in Gaulby Lane, has yet to be formally identified but police are linking his death to a break-in at a jewellery store in Leicester.

    Leicestershire Police said initial enquiries had established a man was pulled into a vehicle and taken against his will from the shop in Belgrave Road - and that this was a precursor to "events leading to the death".

    A Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Bremen had to divert to East Midlands Airport this morning after developing a technical fault.

    The firm said the plane landed safely and passengers were moved onto a replacement plane to continue their journey to Germany.

    A Ryanair spokeswoman said: "This flight diverted to East Midlands due to a minor technical issue.

    "The aircraft landed normally at East Midlands where it was inspected by Ryanair engineers.

    "Passengers boarded a replacement aircraft which departed for Bremen later this morning."

    Police have said they're investigating a report of an attempted rape of a woman in Ripley, external.

    The alleged attack happened in Outram Street at about 01:00 yesterday.

    Derbyshire Police said they were not currently linking it to the rape and attempted murder of a woman in Ilkeston in November.

    Twycross Zoo has announced the birth of its first ever Kirk's dik-dik.

    The animal, which is a type of small antelope, is originally from east Africa.

    Named "Pogo Junior" by zookeepers, she currently weights less than 1kg (2lbs) at the moment.

    Two off-road motorbikes that were spotted being ridden illegally in Newark and Sherwood have been crushed by police, external.

    The uninsured bikes were confiscated as part of a new operation prompted by complaints from residents about quad and off-road motorbikes being ridden obnoxiously.

    Nottinghamshire's police and crime commissioner Paddy Tipping has vowed to prioritise the issue of illegal off-roading in the county over the next 12 months.

    The fate of embattled UKIP leader Henry Bolton may be decided at emergency general meeting held in Derby.

    The party's ruling national executive committee (NEC) has unanimously backed a vote of no confidence in Mr Bolton over offensive texts sent by his ex-girlfriend.

    Christine Hamilton, the wife of the party's leader in Wales, Neil Hamilton, said: "Nobody knows where it [the emergency general meeting] is going to be yet.

    "It is rumoured to be somewhere in the middle of the country like Coventry or Derby".

    Pressed on whether the location was a secret, Ms Hamilton responded by saying it had just not been decided.

    Derbyshire Police have given their response to concerns raised by people in Mickleover about individuals using laughing gas as a recreational drug and littering the suburb with empty canisters.

    Sgt Alex Wood said: “Nitrous Oxide is classed as a psychoactive substance. Although possessing it is not illegal, doing so with intent to supply for recreational purposes is an offence and we are able to stop and search when we have strong reasons to believe this is the case.

    “We are continuing to carry out targeted patrols in areas where the canisters have been discarded. Should we identify individuals as dealing the substance, we will take action.

    “We are also keen to speak to people involved in using it for recreational purposes so we can educate them about the significant health risks involved.

    “If members of the public can help, I’d ask them to call us on 101 and ask for the Mickleover Safer Neighbourhood Team.”

    A Derbyshire school has introduced a puppy into its daily activities as a way of reducing stress levels among its students.

    Winston, a Chihuahua/Jack Russell crossbreed has been with Pingle Academy in Swadlincote since December.

    His duties include helping with conflict resolution and relaxing students during exam periods.

    Assistant Principal Deb Holland said she wasn't originally keen on the idea, but has changed her mind after seeing his positive influence.

    She added: "He's training to be an official therapy dog at the moment, but hopefully once his exams are passed, he'll be here for a long time."
