BBC NewsMid-Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham is demanding tougher action be taken by the United Nations following allegations of abuse by workers at Oxfam.
She believes the issue of sexual abuse and exploitation in the aid sector is much wider than has been reported this week.
Speaking on BBC Radio Derby this evening, she said: "I don't have any proof it's happening elsewhere, but I went to a conference in Istanbul two years ago at the world humanitarian summit and people were talking about it as if it was normal".
She added: "These are people being trusted by the most vulnerable people in the world in terrible circumstances and being abused... it's terrible."
Ms Latham said she will be attending an evidence session with the Chairman of Trustees of Oxfam on Tuesday and is determined to expose any other charities acting in the same way.

He said Pearce was "a dangerous individual, who's not yet an adult... he now faces many years in prison for what he did".
"I only hope he will come to terms with the entirety of his actions and turn his life around."

Darean Hamaali said the extremists tried to make him fight for them, and force his sister to marry.
He spent a year-and-a-half under the self-declared "caliphate" and told the BBC that his time there was "brutal" with daily executions.
Darean is now trying to build a new life as part of Derby County's Community Football project.

BBC NewsCampaigners hoping to stop a 50-metre wind turbine being put up in a "historic" part of Nottinghamshire have lost their appeal.

But a local pressure group said that it should not be built as it would be near a number of listed buildings, scheduled monuments and conservation areas.
Gedling Borough Council granted planning permission for the turbine in April 2016.
Ahead of today's ruling, the Court of Appeal heard that the application had only received 67 written objections.
Dismissing the campaigners' appeal, Lord Justice Burnett, concluded that "the balance of opinion in the local community is likely to be in favour of the proposal".

The judge added: "The defendant set out that evening to mark his 17th birthday to find a woman to attack and violently rape... he can be seen on CCTV circling the park and hunting [the victim] down as she walked through the park."

East Midlands Today reporterDerby County's all-time leading goalscorer Steve Bloomer has been commemorated with a blue plaque.
In two spells for the Rams in the early 1900s, Bloomer scored 292 goals in 473 appearances making him a Baseball Ground hero in the process.
The marker was unveiled this lunchtime on the site of his old school, now the Paul Wallis Fashions building, on Portland Street in Derby.
Mayor of Derby, councillor John Whiby, was at the unveiling with Derby County legend Roger Davies.
Both credited Bloomer's contribution to football in Derby, and nationally.
"Once you get associated with anything Derby County related, Steve Bloomer just comes out and hits you... with his records, the bus at the ground, the song we sing every game... it's incredible," Roger said.

Reporter, East Midlands TodayA teenager who was convicted of attempting to murder a woman he raped and bludgeoned with a paving slab has been sentenced to life with a minimum of 11 years.
Charlie Pearce, 17, carried out the "horrific attack" in Leicester's Victoria Park on 3 July.
In a statement, the victim said: "This disconcerting disconnection between my body and my mind sits alongside the jaw pain I now experience, the loss of hearing in my right ear and the bald patches on my scalp where hair will never grow again, which are all physical reminders of the damage that was done to me by a complete stranger."
Judge Mr Justice Haddon-Cave said: "She could remember nothing of her ordeal, her life had been hanging on a thread."
Pearce was sentenced at the Old Bailey this afternoon.

BBC NewsA group of students who took part in a programme to develop their confidence have been presented with an award.
Year 11 pupils from Nottingham Bluecoat Academy in Wollaton completed the National Citizen Service and won the gold award.
It's a four-week scheme where youngsters take part in an outdoor activity, volunteer with organisations and raise money for charity with the aim of improving life skills such as team building.

BBC NewsA senior police officer appointed to tackle knife crime in Nottingham claims the area has no more of a problem than other major cities.
This is despite at least 13 knife-related crimes reported since the beginning of the year.
Det Supt Simon Firth, who officially started work in the new role today, told BBC Radio Nottingham that it's a "very specific area of the community who're involved... typically young men aged between 18-24".
He added: "The chances of being a victim of knife crime in this city are minute... I don't want it to be blown out of proportion."
