    A senior Conservative MP has said he has "no doubt" that Russia is behind the poisoning of a former spy and his daughter.

    Sergei Skripal, 66, and Yulia Skripal, 33, remain critically ill in hospital, after they were found unconscious on a bench in Salisbury on 4 March.

    "I have no doubt it is the Russians," Rushcliffe MP Ken Clarke told BBC Radio Nottingham.

    "This was... designed I think to send a little message to ex-patriot Russians wherever they may be, that they would not be forgiven if they upset the Kremlin too much."

    Russia denies involvement in the nerve agent attack.

    A man has been arrested after Clumber Park was vandalised on two separate occasions.

    Police were called to the National Trust-owned site on Saturday 3 March after the 250-year-old bridge was badly damaged.

    Officers were also called out in the early hours of last Monday after one of the buildings on the park was set alight.

    A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, theft of a vehicle and arson with intent to endanger life.

    He has been released on police bail.

    Bosses at Nottingham City Transport have released a statement following the death of 18-year-old student Mariam Moustafa.

    Ms Moustafa died three weeks after being attacked outside the Victoria Centre.

    Footage has since emerged of the Egyptian engineering student on board a bus.

However, we can confirm that Mariam does not inform the driver of any concerns she may have about other people in the queue for the bus, but when he subsequently hears raised voices on the top deck, our driver immediately attends to the problem and we can confirm there is no physical contact between Mariam and anyone else on our vehicle."

    A man who sexually abused two children when he was a teenager has been jailed.

    Keith Chapman (pictured), 40, was sentenced for 15 sexual offences following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court.

    He had pleaded guilty in January to four counts of possession of indecent images.

    Chapman, who on one occasion paid the boys he abused £1, was given a jail term totaling 15 years.

    Police said his assaults took place in the Mansfield area in the late 1980s and mid-1990s.

    Det Sgt Fearne Murdoch said: "Chapman systematically groomed and abused a young boy and got him to recruit a friend who was of the same age.

    "He committed the most serious and disturbing acts against them which have had a profound affect on them throughout their life."

    The team behind the event said the decision, external was due to adverse weather predictions and stressed the call had "not been made lightly".

    The parade is still going ahead and there will also be a stall selling shamrock and Irish food, organisers added.

    A five-year-old who called 999 when his mum collapsed at home has been presented with an award.

    George Mart, from Belper, picked up the phone when his mother became unconscious and collapsed onto the floor.

    He answered the call handler's questions and also looked after his two-year-old sister before help arrived.

    A council has organised a four-day litter pick in order to tidy up the verges of a busy A road.

    From Monday evening, a team will be making their way along the side of the A38 from the Little Eaton Island to pick up rubbish.

    Councillor Asaf Afzal, from Derby City Council, said: "We want the areas surrounding our roads to be as picturesque as possible, which means removing abandoned cans, bottle, and packaging."

    The authority is warning drivers that there will be some partial road closures between 22:00-06:00 between Monday 19 and Friday 23 March.
