    A 15-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with "slash wounds" following an assault in Nottingham.

    Police were called to Ripon Road at around 15:30. They have since arrested a 15-year-old boy.

    The teenager's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

    Four new nurseries are to be set up in Derbyshire for parents who want to give their children 30 hours of free childcare.

    The government standard for free childcare for children aged thee to four is 30 hours a week, as of September 2017. This had been doubled from 15 hours a week.

    To meet this requirement, the county council is on the hunt for a new provider to set up day care services at four sites. Three are former children's centres in Coton-in-the-Elms, New Tupton and Brimington. The fourth is at a former pupil referral unit at Bolsover.

    The council has said there is not currently a shortfall in free childcare places but it is planning ahead with the likelihood of the arrival of more families as a result of housing developments and natural population growth.

    Hinckley and Bosworth councillors have put on record their concerns over the "sheer volume" of major development proposals, external currently under consideration in Hinckley and the surrounding areas.

    Councillor David Bill moved a motion at a Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council meeting highlighting issues surrounding the strategic growth plan. This includes the proposed development of an A46 expressway and a freight depot.

    Cllr Bill said that his reasons for raising the motion were concerns over local people not being as aware as they could be of the proposals.

    Hundreds of people with multiple sclerosis have won back more than a total of £500,000 after overturning their benefit assessments.

    Citizen's Advice in Nottingham has helped 339 people challenge a decision made on the eligibility of Personal Independence Payments.

    The cases were taken to tribunal which overturned the initial decision taken by an assessor.

    A 30-year-old man has been interviewed under caution following a report of indecent exposure, external at Clumber Park on Monday evening.

    Police want to speak to any potential witnesses to the incident, which allegedly happened between 17:00 and 18:00.

    If you saw the BBC Two programme Hospital last night you might recognise Amaya.

    Viewers saw the toddler receive treatment for pneumonia at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

    She's quite used to hospital though. She spent 10 months of her life there after being born very prematurely at 24 weeks.

    Today she is celebrating her second birthday at home in Nottingham - a time her mum Mel Ibrahim thought she might not see.

    Theatre bosses say War Horse has proven to be one of the most successful productions ever staged at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall.

    More than 55,000 people went to see the play during its three-and-a-half week run at the venue.

    Sales director Jonathan Saville said: "Without a doubt this was the biggest, most exciting, and best-selling show we’ve had at the Royal Concert Hall in recent memory, possibly in its history."

    The National Theatre’s next visit to Nottingham will be in January 2019 when they will bring a new production of Macbeth to the Theatre Royal.

    Police are investigating a fight in Stapleford last night that resulted in a car crashing into the front garden of a house.

    Officers say three men in a Mercedes clashed with five people on pushbikes wearing balaclavas. It happened at about 17:30 on Whitley Close.

    Later, the car is said to have hit one of the bikes in Tevery Close, causing the rider to fall off. The car then mounted the kerb and crashed into the front garden of a house and caused damage to a parked car.

    All of those involved left the scene but police have recovered the car.

    Initial proposals for the redevelopment of St George’s Barracks in North Luffenham will be published next month.

    The leader of Rutland County Council has said this marks the start of an "important conversation" between the council, the Ministry of Defence and Rutland residents.

    At the moment it's being proposed the former military site be turned into a Garden Village, with up to 3,000 new homes as well as enterprise, leisure and recreation facilities.

    People living in the area will be able to see the plans and share their thoughts on them during public exhibitions at Victoria Hall in Oakham and Oakham Library. There will also be a roadshow around Rutland that will take the proposals to communities in other parts of the county.

    Asda has sent us this tongue-in-cheek response after an online shopper from Sherwood was mistakenly charged £930 for a single banana.

    The firm said: “Whoops, looks like we’ve slipped up here. Whilst our bananas are excellent, even we agree that they are not worth that much and clearly there has been a glitch in our system.

    "We would like to thank Mrs Gordon for keeping her eyes peeled and flagging this error to us and we are investigating to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

    Harborough MP Neil O'Brien had the first question of today's PMQs and asked Theresa May for an update on the Windrush deportation row.

    Theresa May responded there has been a "great deal of concern and anxiety" and that "these people are British, they are part of us".

    She said the government had "no intention of asking anyone to leave who has the right to remain here" and offered an apology for anyone whose status in the UK has been challenged.

    The sun might be shining today but last week was a total wash out - as a result a village in Nottinghamshire flooded twice.

    A meeting is being held today to discuss flooding issues in Normanton-on-Soar.

    Some people living there have told the BBC it's the worst it's ever been and believe the drains are causing the problems.

    The county council, Environment Agency and Severn Trent are due to meet this afternoon to discuss the cause of the problem.
