Boeing is unveiling a new, quieter and more fuel efficient cargo aircraft at East Midlands Airport.
West Atlantic, based in the East Midlands, is the first operator to use the 737-800 cargo plane.
The 737-800 is already used by many airlines for passenger flights but with a new generation of passenger aircraft coming onto the market, Boeing is converting them into cargo carriers.
East Midlands Airport claims to be the second biggest cargo airport in the UK terms of the total tonnage that passes through it annually.
Neil Robinson, from the airport, said this is one way it is trying to minimise the impact of their operations on the local community.
The new 737-800 BCF will start by flying twice a night between the East Midlands and Belfast for Royal Mail.

Labour is demanding an apology from the transport secretary over a decision to scrap the electrification of the Midland Mainline and other routes.
Last year Chris Grayling cited faster "bi-mode" trains as a reason electrification was not needed but has been accused of misleading Parliament after a report from the government's spending watchdog said the new trains didn't exist yet and the decision was actually down to cost.
Chris Grayling told the Commons he stood by his previous statements.

A woman from Countesthorpe is warning others about a telephone scam she was almost duped into.
Beth Bodycote received a call from someone saying her husband had been injured in a car crash and taken to hospital. They told her she had to make an online payment of £300 for his surgery.
The call seemed genuine because it appeared to come from her husband's phone.
She almost parted with the cash but then she got a call from her husband on another line. He confirmed he had not been in a crash at all.
Quote MessageIt was absolutely horrendous. These callous people that play on people's emotions. It wasn't just me that was involved, it was my children. It was so upsetting. I don't want anyone else to have to go through what I went through."

That wasn't the last they heard from the attempted scammer though. The following day Beth's husband received a call from his wife's phone number to say she had been involved in a car crash. He ended the call straight away.

A petition with 3,000 signatures has been handed to Leicestershire County Council calling for all 34 Sure Start children's centres across the area to remain open.
The authority claims it needs to save up to a third of the current £12m budget and wants to create a new 0 to 19 family support service, using fewer service hubs.
Mum-of-two Rachael Harris said the centres are crucial for other mums like her.
She said: "They gave good support with breast feeding and also mental health when I had my first son. Without these centres I think more mums would struggle. I think it gives a lot of women a lifeline."
She added: "I know some of these hubs they want to create aren't on the best public transport routes and know a lot of people who don't drive or only have one car in the family. I think they would struggle to get to them."
