"When you have a training session, you go back, you reflect on it. Videos, past games, future opposition etc.

"I think in the modern game, if you want to get on in management you have to be across as much as you can be - because somebody else will be across it all.

It's been a great year for hen harriers with 34 chicks fledging this year - the highest number in 10 years, Natural England have said.

Hen harriers have come close to extinction in England due to historic persecution and conservationists warn they are still targeted by gamekeepers because they prey on grouse.

This year's breeding success is down to high numbers of voles, which are a main source of food, and good weather.

But it's also a result of partnerships between conservation groups, national parks and moorland managers to better monitor nests.

Four nests were successful on land managed for grouse moor shooting, including three on United Utilities land in Lancashire, and one on land owned by the National Trust in the Peak District.

Natural England warned, however, it would take more than one good breeding season to deliver a thriving population so there should be "no let-up" in conservation efforts.

Hundreds of stray cats have been found living in part of Nottingham after what's claimed to be the country's first cat census.

Cats Protection piloted a mobile app in Bulwell in 2016 so that users could report sightings of homeless cats.

Jane Clements, from the charity, said: “We had an extraordinary response to our first scheme in Bulwell and it’s been so successful we are now replicating it in other major cities across the UK, as well as a new project in Beeston."

"Cats are prolific breeders, with one female capable of having around 18 kittens a year, so this work will really help the community in Bulwell by preventing numbers of strays becoming a problem," she added.
