    A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital, external with "potentially life-altering injuries" following a crash with a car on the A60 Mansfield Road near Hucknall earlier.

    Nottinghamshire Police said the biker, a man in his thirties, injured his leg and pelvis in the crash near the Burntstump Hill junction at about 07:50.

    The road remains closed in both directions between Forest Lane and Ollerton Road with diversions in place.

    Leicester City Claude Puel was left rueing the referee's decision not to award his team a penalty early in last night's Premier League clash at Arsenal.

    Puel said "all the people in the stadium" could see that Rob Holding should have been penalised for handball in the 18th - and sent off for a second yellow card.

    Although his team went on to take the lead through an own goal, they were eventually beaten thanks to strikes from Mezut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

    The result leaves Leicester in 11th place in the Premier League with West Ham their next opponents on Saturday.

    Police are dealing with a "serious" crash near Hucknall.

    The A60 Mansfield Road, at the junction of Burnt Stump Road, is closed with queuing traffic in both directions at the B6020 Main Road junction.

    It said there are "significant delays as only one lane running due to collision".

    A woman who was strip searched by police in London is challenging a decision not to punish the officer who authorised it.

    Koshka Duff, a 30-year-old academic at the University of Nottingham, was arrested on suspicion of obstruction after offering a legal advice card to a 15-year-old black teenager during his stop-and-search.

    The officer who authorised the strip search was cleared of gross misconduct and the Metropolitan Police says it is satisfied the matter was "thoroughly investigated".

    Dr Duff, who is originally from Aberdeen, does not agree and is challenging the misconduct hearing's findings by way of a judicial review.

    Three lanes of the M1 northbound are currently closed because of an oil spillage following an accident.

    There are reports of queues of up to five miles and delays of more than an hour.

    Two lorries were involved in the crash between junctions 28 and 29 near Mansfield and Chesterfield at about 6:30. There are no serious injuries, police said.

    Police are investigating and the car park remains shut. The trams are unaffected.

    A man was shot in the leg at a Leicester house as police arrived at the scene.

    Leicestershire Police said he was hurt while they visited the property on Equity Road at about 22:40 last night.

    "When officers arrived, a man left the scene and a firearm was discharged", it said in a statement.

    "A man was taken to hospital for gunshot wounds to one of his legs."

    A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

    A stretch of Narborough Road was closed overnight but has since reopened while Equity Road remains shut for investigations.

    A police spokeswoman said officers had not been responding to a call and had gone to the property "acting on information they had received".
