    British Showjumping have bought a Leicestershire farm which they want to turn into their national training centre.

    The 120-acre Home Farm, near Holthorpe, is expected to include residential and equestrian facilities and will offer training to members, officials and volunteers.

    Brendan Rodgers has said a break-in at his home in Glasgow will speed up the process of moving his family to Leicester.

    "We’re looking to buy a home here and they’ll move down soon. We’ll throw our life into this city and we’re looking forward to doing that," said the new Leicester City boss.

    His wife and stepdaughter are believed to have been inside his East Dunbartonshire home when it was broken into yesterday morning.

    He confirmed some of his medals were taken, before adding: "I’ll just have to try and get some more now."

    Traffic is queuing on the M1 northbound due to a vehicle fire.

    Police say the car came to a stop on the hard shoulder about one mile short of J23 Loughborough and the occupants of the vehicle were on the hard shoulder when emergency services arrived.

    The fire service are in attendance and two of three lanes have been closed by Highways officers.

    The jury in a murder trial has been shown a video interview by an 87-year-old man who died after being attacked in his home.

    Arthur Gumbley gave police an account of the attack from his hospital bed two weeks before he died.

    Bike firm Raleigh has confirmed it is planning to move from its current headquarters in Eastwood.

    The company said following strong sales of electric bikes it felt "the time was right to look for premises better suited to the future demands of the business".

    Raleigh added it had "firm intentions to remain in the Nottinghamshire area".

    The firm, which was established in 1887, has submitted an application for the Eastwood site to change from industrial to residential use with a view to selling it for housing.

    Conservative peer Baroness Warsi has criticised her party for reinstating an Ashfield councillor suspended last year for sharing Islamophobic posts on Facebook.

    Mick Murphy who represents Hucknall North shared several images, including one comparing Muslim dress to bin bags.

    He's since been reinstated and in the last week has shared images of Jeremy Corbyn and Dianne Abbott using offensive terms.

    BBC Radio Nottingham have contacted Councillor Murphy for comment but had no response.

    Six men have been arrested on suspicion of child sexual exploitation offences following raids in Nottingham, external.

    Police said five properties were searched in the Forest Fields area this morning as part of an ongoing investigation.

    Three men, aged 25, 24 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of causing or inciting the sexual exploitation of two 14-year-old girls.

    Another three men, aged 28, 24 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of causing or inciting the sexual exploitation of a 14-year-old girl. All six remain in police custody.

    World famous bike manufacturer Raleigh is reportedly planning to relocate from its current headquarters in Eastwood.

    Buoyed by strong sales of electric bikes, the firm hopes to move to a new purpose-built factory elsewhere in the county, the Nottingham Post has said, external.

    Broxtowe Borough Council confirmed Raleigh had submitted an application to change the use of its Eastwood site from industrial to residential to allow it to be sold for a new housing development.

    In a statement, the authority said: "Whilst the council welcomes applications for new homes, it is always disappointing to lose a business in the borough.

    "This application has just been received and will be fully considered and consulted on before a decision is made as part of the normal planning process."

    Raleigh has not yet responded to the BBC's request for a comment.

    A teacher is hoping to break a 132-year-old cycling record - by riding a penny farthing.

    Richard Thoday, from Matlock, says he hopes to break the world record, which was set by a Victorian teenager, by riding from Land's End to John O'Groats in under five days.

    Mr Thoday has been fascinated by the unusual bicycles since he saw a picture of one in The Guardian when he was a child.

    He uses his penny farthing to commute to his job at Highfields School and says he loves the reaction he gets from his pupils and people in the street.
