    Derby County manager Frank Lampard says he will discuss his future with owner Mel Morris after the Championship play-off final amid speculation he will replace Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea boss.

    Lampard, 40, spent 13 years at Stamford Bridge and has taken Derby to Monday's showpiece Wembley final against Aston Villa in his first season as a boss.

    Sarri also took over last summer and also has two years left on his deal.

    A Mansfield man has been jailed for nine years for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl.

    Daniel Bailey, of Hatton Court, Mansfield, was locked up at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to eight sexual offences.

    These included four counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possession of extreme pornographic image.

    Det Con Kerry Stringer, who led the investigation, said: "This was shocking abuse of a vulnerable young girl and while the victim may not yet fully understand what has happened the offences are likely to have a lasting impact."

    Bailey, 22, was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order.

    A proposed scheme to build a waterpark resort in a disused Derbyshire quarry has been met with both excitement and scepticism.

    The project at Crich Quarry were revealed to Amber Valley Borough Council, reports the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

    The plans could include an indoor water park, a hotel and apartment block, climbing walls, a zip line and a swim-up bar.

    Dr Mike Galer, general manager of the nearby Crich Tramway Village, said the plans had been talked about for a number of years and called it "an exciting proposal".

    However, Councillor Gareth Gee, said he was sceptical on whether the project would take off.

    A formal planning application has not yet been submitted.

    Nottingham Forest will have to pay former owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi £4.2m after losing a legal fight over the financial fallout from his sale of the club.

    It follows a financial row during negotiations over the club's sale to Greek shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis two years ago.

    Judge Stuart Isaacs QC said Mr Al-Hasawi "invested heavily" in the club's training ground, academy and match day facilities at the stadium after buying it in 2012.

    In reply, Forest said they would now "seek further clarification of the position on appeal".

    Their statement added: "This litigation has no bearing on the long term position of the Club or its ability to operate."

    Thieves have stolen about £1,700 from a charity shop in Blaby in two break-ins in two weeks.

    The air ambulance shop in John’s Court was first targeted on Sunday 12 May. It happened again on Sunday 19 May.

    On both occasions money was taken from the safe and a "considerable amount of damage" was caused to the store. The charity said staff are "distraught".

    A restaurant owner has been jailed for three years for £480,000 VAT fraud after he kept meticulous tax records.

    HM Revenue and Custom said Nazrul Islam, 52, was arrested in April 2017, following an investigation which led to his home and his restaurant, Jaipur, in High Street, Repton, being searched.

    HMRC officers discovered records of daily takings between 2012 and 2017 at his house, which did not match up with sales he submitted in his VAT returns.

    Officers also discovered £22,170 in cash at his home, hidden behind a marble wardrobe, they said.

    Islam, of Tower Hill, Great Barr, Birmingham, who had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of VAT evasion, was jailed yesterday at Birmingham Crown Court.

    He was also disqualified from being a company director for seven years.

    A massive conker "caterpillar" made in Leicestershire is officially a world record-breaker, Guinness has confirmed.

    The 341m chain, made up of 16,847 horse chestnut seeds, was put together at Conkers attraction near Moira in the National Forest.

    The Davies family, from Sutton Coldfield, began making it to raise funds for their local Scout troop, of which sons Edward and James Davies are members.

    Mum, Liz Davies said: “Our enthusiasm got the better of us and we decided to try to set a new world record.

    "We had some great days out collecting the conkers and loads of fun threading them on and watching the caterpillar grow."
