  1. Phone problems at Hayle health centrepublished at 09:17

    Managers at the Bodriggy Health Centre in Hayle, external say that their telephone lines are down this morning. 

    BT is working on the problem but the surgery says people will have difficulties contacting them until the line is fixed. 

    Patients are advised to call 111 if they need medical help.

    A two-minute silence will be observed across the UK later to remember the nation's war dead.

    It starts at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month - the time in 1918 when the guns finally fell silent along the Western Front.  

    Services will be held across Devon and Cornwall.

    A proposed parking regime at one of Devon's most popular surfing beaches - Saunton Sands - has met with fierce opposition.

    The car park operator at Saunton Sands wants to install number plate recognition cameras and 24 hour parking charges.

    - There are delays on the M5 northbound between junctions  31 and 30 because of roadworks - and congestion on the A38 to Splatford Split.  

    - The A386 Tavistock Road in Plymouth is partially blocked causing slow traffic inbound because of an accident.

    - There's slow traffic on the B3416 Deep Lane in Plympton near Deep Lane junction in the roadworks area.

    - There are long delays for people heading into Truro with long tailbacks on the A39 from Carland Cross.

  7. Former mayor Edward James jailed over £20m fraud scampublished at 08:07

    A former mayor of Glastonbury has beenjailed for 42 monthsfor his involvement in a foreign currency exchange scam.

    Edward James, 75, was convicted of fraudulent trading at Crown Currency Exchange, where he was a director. He used new customer cash to pay off old clients for two years, Southwark Crown Court was told.

    More than 12,000 people were left £20m out of pocket after the Cornwall-based firm collapsed. Three other people involved in the scam were jailed in June.
