    A man a woman had to be rescued near Newquay after they went for a beach walk but were cut off by a rising tide.

    The pair, both in their twenties and from Redruth, had enough mobile phone signal to call 999 and raise the alarm with Falmouth Coastguard on Sunday afternoon.

    RNLI lifeboat volunteers launched the two inshore lifeboats to the incident at Bedruthan Steps and brought the man and woman safely back to Newquay Harbour at 17:00 BST.

    A "manic" house party was broken up by police officers, external in the early hours of Sunday morning.

    Hundreds of people were reportedly packed inside a property in North Hill, near the junction with St Lawrence Road, at about 2am.

    A businessman from Torquay is warning other firms to be aware of cowboy waste operators, after he was fined for flytipping.

    Richard Weeks told the BBC he paid a firm he thought was reputable, to take his computer waste away.

    However the firm, which wasn't licensed, dumped his computer waste in a country lane.

    It was a busy weekend for Cornwall's firefighters who have been sharing images from their jobs.

    Crews from Wadebridge and Padstow were called out to rescue a small child who had become stuck in the mud just off the Camel Trail on Sunday.
