    The main road heading out of St Ives has been branded an "accident waiting to happen". 

    Residents and motorists have complained about long tailbacks since a one way system and cycle lane was introduced on the road between Lelant and Hayle earlier this year. 

    Almost 3,000 people have now signed a petition calling on Cornwall Council to reverse those changes. The council says it's monitoring the situation.

    A Polish family targeted in a racially motivated arson attack say they have suffered "a torrent of abuse" since the EU Referendum.

    The family, who live in the Efford suburb of Plymouth,were targeted overnight on Wednesday when a fire was started deliberately in a shed next to their house.

    They managed to escape without injury, despite substantial damage to their shed, but said they are "scared to go out on the streets and speak Polish".  

    A "hate-filled" letter was also sent to the family around the time the property was set on fire. Insp Darren Green from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Hate crime has no place in Plymouth and we will do everything possible to locate those responsible for the fire and the disgusting letter sent to the victims."

    Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams hopes to have up to four new permanent signings within the next fortnight.

    The Pilgrims set off for a pre-season tour to the Netherlands on 24 July, with Adams hoping to have his squad finalised before they leave.

    "We've only got probably three players, four possibly, to come in, it just depends on how I work it," Adams told BBC Sport ."We'll have to wait and see what is available, we know the type of area that we're looking for to strengthen, and we'll do that over the coming weeks."

    Benjamin Mee, director of Dartmoor Zoo, says he is confident they will find the missing lynx as there are "definitely signs the traps have been explored".

    Mr Mee said they checked the 25 humane traps but did not find him. He said: "We've been out this morning and will be out in the area checking the traps again later.

    "He's probably asking himself 'why did I do this silly thing' as he will be getting very hungry. Hopefully we will catch him soon and return him back to the zoo."

    Keepers at Dartmoor Zoo say they will make a "human cordon" with police officers to capture Flaviu if traps fail to work.

    Park staff have set 25 humane traps using meat bait to ensnare the lynx, which escaped yesterday from its enclosure.

    A vet is said to be at the scene with a tranquiliser dart gun if required.

    The President and CEO of Canadian company, Strongbow Exploration has told the BBC that re-opening South Crofty tin mine in Redruth will "ultimately lead to the creation of new jobs".

    The company has been encouraged by a weakened pound, which has pushed up the value of tin by more than 15%.

    Richard Williams said: "We will be working over the coming 12 months to gain a listing on the AIM stock exchange in London which would allow the broader UK investment community to participate in this venture."

    Danny Bamping, from the Big Cat Society, says the Lynx that escaped from Dartmoor Zoo is likely to be confused and will probably "stay near water".

    He said: "It has just been brought down from Kent and because it is a captive bred animal its hunting gene has been suppressed. 

    "I don't think it will go very far. I hope they catch it soon so it doesn't cause itself any harm."

    A consul from the Polish Embassy will visit the victims of a racially motivated arson attack, which happened in Plymouth earlier this week.

    The family from Poland was also sent a hate filled letter containing threats to leave the country. 

    Police say the fire was started in a garden shed and spread to the house causing substantial damage. The family say they don't feel safe since the result of the EU Referendum.

    Zoo staff have told BBC News they know where the escaped lynx is after positive sightings from staff and drone footage.

    Keepers said they hoped to catch him in the next few hours and think he will be tempted into a humane trap.

    A Lynx that escaped from Dartmoor Zoo on Thursday is still on the run.

    Police and zoo staff spent the night searching for the cat, called Flaviu. He arrived at the zoo from Kent on Wednesday. 

    He is the size of a large domestic cat and could be dangerous if cornered, police said.
