    Two men have been found cleared of the murder of north Devon teenager Scarlett Keeling in Goa, India.

    Here's a reminder of how the tortuous road to trial unfolded, a journey which her mother Fiona MacKeown described as "hell".

    • November 2007: Scarlett and her family travel to India for a six-month 'trip of a lifetime' 

    • February 2008: Scarlett's body was found on Anjuna Beach in Goa. Police said she had accidentally drowned

    • March 2008: A second post-mortem is carried out which showed she had been raped and murdered 

    • March 2008: Samson D'Souza and Placido Carvalho are arrested and charged on five counts, before being bailed 

    • March 2010: Trial begins in Goa's Children's Court, but it is delayed due to adjournments. Ms MacKeown calls it a "show trial" 

    • August 2010: Fiona MacKeown, Scarlett's mother, gives evidence at the trial and says her alleged killers 'gave her drugs' 

    • February 2011: Prosecutor SR Rivonkar resigns from the case 

    • April 2012: The Goan authorities give permission for Scarlett's body to be released to her family 

    • June 2012: Scarlett is buried in a garden on the family's smallholding

    • September 2016: Two men are cleared of Scarlett's death

    Fifteen-year-old Scarlett was "squealing with excitement" about a party on the beach when her mother last saw her. 

    Hours later, her lifeless and partially-clothed body was found in the sand. Police said she had drowned but her mother refused to accept her daughter's death had been an accident.

    A lynx which sparked a massive search after it escaped from its enclosure has gone back on public display after nine weeks in quarantine.

    Carpathian lynx Flaviu escaped from Dartmoor Zoo in July, and spent three weeks roaming the Devon countryside before he was recaptured.

    Keepers have added a roof and reinforced walls to his enclosure to stop further escapes.

    More than eight and a half years after a 15 year-old British girl was found dead on an Indian beach, a verdict on the two men accused of killing her is finally due today.

    New investment into the Cornish Pirates has only been possible due to the approval of plans for the Stadium for Cornwall, says the club's new chief executive.

    Pete Child has joined the club following a restructure and plans for a new £1.5m share issue, which will see New Zealand-based businessman Colin Groves and Super Rugby side Waikato Chiefs chairman Dallas Fisher become involved with the club.

    "The Stadium for Cornwall's going ahead, and that's the key to a lot of this. It's given the confidence to people and attracted people like Colin and Dallas from New Zealand," Child told BBC Radio Cornwall.

    A photograph posted on social media which claimed a dog owner had refused to clean up her dog's mess has caused a "huge public reaction" according to Cornwall Council.

    The photograph, which was posted to Cornwall Council's Facebook page, external but has now been removed, showed three women with three dogs in Padstow, Cornwall.

    A council spokesman said: "The dog owner has since come forward and we are dealing with the incident."

    A mother from Devon has travelled to an Indian court, to find out who is responsible for the death of her 15 year-old daughter.

    Scarlett Keeling was raped and murdered on Anjuna Beach in 2008, in the care of her 25-year-old tour guide Julio Lobo, while the rest of her family went travelling.

    Since then her mum Fiona McKeown has been trying to get justice for her eldest girl and expects a verdict in Goa this morning.

    She told BBC 5 live’s Emma Barnett about the guilt she’s felt since her daughter’s death.

    “Of course I blame myself but I didn’t murder her. I never pushed her face into the sand and drowned her.”

    Fifteen-year-old Scarlett's bruised and semi-nude body was found on the popular Anjuna beach in the north of the small Indian tourist state, popular with Western hippies, eight years ago. 

    Samson D'Souza and Placido Carvalho were charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, using force with intent to outrage a woman's modesty and of administering drugs with intent to harm.
