    Four Exeter Chiefs players have been named in England's 37-man training squad ahead of the Autumn internationals.

    Centres Henry Slade and Ollie Devoto, hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie and winger Jack Nowell have all been named. 

    Summer signing Devoto has been brought in as an injury replacement for Leicester's Manu Tuilagi and is not yet confirmed in the 45-man Elite Playing Squad for the games against South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia.

    The EFL's longest-serving manager says reports surrounding the integrity of football tarnish everyone in the game.

    Paul Tisdale has been in charge at Exeter City for over 10 years and says the reputation of football clubs across England is being hit by the claims which have led to Sam Allardyce leaving his role as England manager and Barnsley assistant Tommy Wright being sacked after investigations by The Daily Telegraph.

    "It's not good for the sport and our reputation," Tisdale told BBC Sport. "It takes a long time to build credibility and a name, and you lose it so quickly. I'm very proud of what I do as the manager of Exeter and the credibility that we have garnered over a dozen or 15 years, and it's unfortunate that there's a feeling that we all get tarred with the same brush."

    There should be nine more Marine Conservation Zones in Devon and seven more in Cornwall, a new report says.

    The Wildlife Trusts publish a new report today, The case for more Marine Conservation Zones.     

    The report is published in advance of the government’s plans to announce a third and final phase of Marine Conservation Zones – the government plans to consult the public in 2017 and designate the chosen zones in 2018.

    The company behind Britain's first new metals mine for a generation, Hemerdon tungsten mine on the edge of Dartmoor near Plymouth, has requested a suspension of its shares on the Australian Stock Exchange. 

    Tungsten prices have fallen, causing financial difficulties for Wolf Minerals.

    Wolf Minerals first revealed difficulties in the summer when it announced it couldn't meet lender's requirements to maintain a healthy cash flow forecast. 

    It's now delaying the release of financial statements while it's in talks with backers about a restructuring. Wolf says discussions are positive.

    Security guards have spent the night at a beach between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren where a large fin whale washed up yesterday. 

    Teignbridge District Council wants to ensure people stay away from the carcass whilst a plan is put in place for its disposal. 

    There is limited vehicle access to the beach which makes its removal by land difficult.

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was punched in the face and suffered a broken leg during a serious assault near Unit 1 nightclub in Exeter.

    The 19-year-old was assaulted by another man at a burger van on Summerland Street between 02:00 and 02:30 on Sunday 18 September.

    Police are trying to find a man in connection with the assault who is described as being white, around 6ft tall and of stocky build.

    Police have confirmed a man has died after getting into trouble in the water off Tintagel. His dog, thought to be a golden retriever, also died.

    Chris Bolton, operations manager for Port Isaac RNLI said: "We got within a few hundred yards of the casualty when the coastguard helicopter arrived and winched the casualty out.

    "The dog was near the rocks and the swell was breaking onto the rocks. It was a difficult job to recover the dog."

    There will be some heavy showers at first which may be thundery with hail, but the showers will become less frequent through the morning and it will become mainly dry with bright or sunny spells. 

    Light or moderate west or southwesterly winds will be fresher around the coast at first and the early showers. The maximum temperature will be 16C (61F) in Devon, and 17C (63F) in Cornwall.

    A holidaymaker who got into trouble in water off Tintagel has died, police have confirmed.

    Officers were told at about 12.50 on Tuesday that a 63-year-old man from Warwickshire was in distress and in the water near Dunderhole Point, Tintagel, with his dog.

    Coastguards and police attended as did the air ambulance, who took the man to Treliske Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    Police and community support officers are being taken off patrol in Devon and Cornwall to deal with a backlog of call centre work, the BBC has learnt.

    Around 50 officers have been diverted to process reports of crimes filed on the internet and by email. 

    The force said: "The significant majority were on restricted duties." 

    But the BBC has been told some were neighbourhood patrol officers and communities have been "noticing fewer police on the beat".
