An item of significant historical importance has been stolen from a church in South East Cornwall.
The name plate from Bishop Trelawny's coffin has been taken from Pelynt Church, where it was on display.
Bishop Trelawny, is the inspiration behind the famous song "Trelawny" - Cornwall's unofficial national anthem - for his role in the Revolution of 1688 - the Glorious Revolution. He led a group of Cornishmen to London in protest at the rule of Catholic King James II. He was buried at the church in 1721.
The plate was hanging in a frame on the wall, where it had been since the 1880s. Historians said it was "of value to everyone who loves Cornwall".
