    Cornwall Council says whoever takes over the running of 14 leisure centres will have to spend £6m on what it calls "priority repairs" within the next five years.

    Final tenders for the leasehold are being considered but the winners might land themselves with a costly repair bill.

    One person has been cut free from a vehicle, external after a crash between a car and a lorry in Cornwall. 

    Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the A389 at St Issey, near Padstow, at about 18:30 on Monday. It said: "Crash rescue equipment was used to cut one casualty free from one vehicle. Once removed the casualty was left in the care of ambulance paramedics."

    Their condition is not known.

    Residents living close to the scene of a large fire at a disused former supermarket near Camborne were told to close their windows following concerns the roof contained asbestos.

    At its height, about 45 firefighters - from stations including Truro, Perranporth and Penzance - tackled the blaze. 

    Early indicators suggest it was started deliberately, firefighters said. Investigations into the cause are continuing today.

    • In Cornwall, on the A30 eastbound at Scorrier, around the A3047, there are reports of an accident
    • On the A38, between Menheniot and Trerulefoot roundabout, heading towards Plymouth, there's slow-moving and queueing traffic 
    • On the A388, between the Carkeel roundabout and Dirty Lane, there are temporary traffic lights for roadworks. Slow traffic is reported 
    • In Lelant, on the A3074 Fore Street, near Station Hill, there are temporary traffic lights due to roadworks. Watch out for slow traffic 
    • National Rail Enquiries says there is a reduced service between Falmouth Docks and Truro expected until 10:00 
    • In Devon, there are reports of an incident on the A38 Parkway in Plymouth, at Weston Mill, heading towards Manadon. Traffic is slow-moving 
    • Also in Plymouth, Blunt's Lane is closed in both directions between Forder Valley Road and Davy Road due to a broken-down lorry and recovery work on it 
    • Staying in the city, there are temporary traffic lights for roadworks on Saltash Road, near Wolseley Road. Traffic is slow-moving, with delays on the St Budeaux Bypass 
    • On the A384 at Riverford Bridge, between Buckfastleigh and Totnes, temporary traffic lights and roadworks are causing queueing traffic in both directions

    Plymouth's Theatre Royal is planning to erect a 7m-tall (23ft) bronze sculpture outside the city centre venue's main entrance.

    Managers said a planning application would "shortly be submitted" to the city council for the 9m (30ft) wide sculpture and, if approved, "could be in place by early 2018"

    They added that the £450,000, cost "would be funded using cash raised as part of the theatre’s £7.5m regeneration project completed in 2013".

    Investigations are beginning this morning into how a major fire started at a derelict supermarket near Camborne. 

    More than 45 firefighters from across west Cornwall spent several hours tackling the blaze at the old Norman's store at Tuckingmill after being called out at about 18:00 on Monday.

    Six appliances were sent to the scene, as well as an ariel ladder platform that allowed firefighters to douse the flames from above.

    Early indicators suggested the fire was started deliberately, firefighters said.
