    A Marmite superfan says he is not worried about Unilever's pricing row with Tesco - because he has a stockpile of the "love it or hate it" spread.

    Philip Walker eats Marmite every day and has 12 branded items in pride of place in his kitchen, with replica versions of each of the special edition jars and more standard Marmite in the cupboard.

    Mr Walker, 43, from Exeter, Devon, said: "I have quite a good stock so it won't stopping me going to Tesco.

    "I am more angry at Unilever than I am at Tesco. It seems Unilever is using Brexit as an excuse to hold Tesco customers to ransom."

    A rare crab has been caught by a Newquay fisherman who says he has never seen anything like it in more than 40 years of fishing.

    The bizarre-looking crustacean, called a masked crab which is native to UK waters, is hardly ever seen as it lives buried in the sand with just its long antennae protruding.  

    It has gone on display at Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium.

    Off-duty volunteers for Exmouth Beach Rescue Club helped to save a man whose powerboat had been swamped by waves and began to sink.

    The inshore lifeboat was launched at 19:00 BST on 11 October after volunteers saw flare smoke during their training session.

    Crew volunteers recovered the casualty to the D class lifeboat and searched for around 45 minutes in the dark for his submerged vessel. 

    The powerboat was found by torchlight and recovered to the beach for the casualty to collect the following day.

    The firm behind the development of a new ground for Truro City say they are now willing to help fund the rival Stadium for Cornwall to give the club a "major stake" in the project.

    Helical Retail, which plans to build on Truro's current home, had called for a judicial review into the planning permission for Stadium for Cornwall.

    Jonathan Cox, of developers Helical Retail, said: "We believe there is a window of opportunity, before we press the button to start on the new stadium for Truro City at Silver Bow in the New Year, whereby we would be willing to consider using available funds we would be spending on Silver Bow to go towards the funding of the Stadium for Cornwall and to give the football club a major stake in that project as part of an alternative funding approach."

    Devon and Cornwall Police says it is doing all it can to support rape victims even though an official report from The Rape Monitoring Group has found that conviction rates are still low.

    Det Supt Debbie Marsden from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We can offer them [victims] an opportunity either to go through the criminal justice system or to access some support which we can do through the Victim Care Unit."

    Through the Victim Care Unit, they can access support from more than 50 different agencies, Supt Marsden said.

    Vandals are being blamed for forcing the closure of a toilet block at a north Cornwall beauty spot.

    It's not certain if the toilets at Trebarwith Strand will reopen - Tintagel Parish Council took over the running of them last year but says it can't afford to keep doing it and is handing them back to Cornwall Council. 

    Rob Lucas, who runs a café near the toilets, thinks it would be unreasonable to ask business owners to contribute to their upkeep.

    Torquay United defender Ben Gerring says he will learn from his extended suspension and come back stronger.

    The 25-year-old had his four-game ban for his second sending off of the season at Gateshead extended by two games after he admitted making an offensive gesture to the crowd.

    "I've got to learn from this because it certainly can't happen again," he said. "I've used all my red cards up probably for the next two or three years so I've got to be a lot more sensible."

    Students retaking an English 11-plus exam in Plymouth say they found a question that previously appeared in the mock exam held last summer.

    "We are fuming," a mother whose daughter took the papers said.

    "The whole thing has been terrible from start to finish. It shows great unprofessionalism and as parents we feel that they don't give a damn." 

    Pupils had to resit the 11-plus exam after claims some students had seen the exam before. GL Assessment has apologised for the mistake and said pupils will not need to resit.

    Quadruple amputee Marshall Janson, aged eight, who hit the national press after running out on to the pitch at a Tottenham Hotspur match earlier this year, has now taken up mixed martial arts.

    Marshall, from Perranporth, was diagnosed with meningitis when he was one-year-old and had both his arms and legs amputated.

    The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) invited Marshall to their UFC 204 event in Manchester, which has encouraged him to carry on with his boxing training and take up ju-jitsu.

    Truro hope to move to a 4,000 capacity arena on the outskirts of the city.

    And for the hard of hearing, you won't miss Matthew's motor - thanks to new side-mounted exhausts, it sounds like a Lancaster bomber he says.

    The modified - so-called 'ratted' Bentley - has gone viral on the internet with more than 133,000 views on eBay.

    "Removing the paint was the hardest part," said Matt, 48, from St Day. "The paint job on Bentleys is so good it took an angle grinder to get it off."

    He assures any Bentley purists that the car could be converted back to normal quite easily.

    "It was pretty tatty on the outside and needed a new paint job," he said.

    The leader of the opposition at Teignbridge Dristrict Council disagrees with a 12% pay rise for its Chief Executive Nicola Bulbeck - taking her salary to £141,000.

    But opposition Liberal Democrat leader Gordon Hook said: "Loads of people have been urged to take a pay restraint or no pay rises - I'm thinking of nurses and care workers - and our own employees at Teignbridge.

    "We're all being urged to be careful and yet out of the blue there's a 12.5% pay rise for the chief executive."

    Jeremy Christophers, the Conservative leader of the council, says the increase reflects additional responsibilities she's taken on after the senior management team was cut from 18 to 6 posts.

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old woman and a one-year-old baby have been seriously injured following a crash near South Molton yesterday. 

    Emergency services were called to Braymill Cross on the B3227 at about 15:45 after reports of a crash between a Citroen car and a coach carrying schoolchildren.

    The woman was airlifted to Derriford Hospital and a one-year-old baby was taken by air ambulance to a hospital in Bristol, both with serious and life-threatening injuries. 

    The driver of the coach and the schoolchildren were not injured. 

    The B3227 was blocked both ways due to the incident between the Rising Sun Hotel, Umberleigh and Ford Down Lane, South Molton.

    Pupils who had to resit an 11-plus exam because of allegations some children had seen the exam before, found a question which had already appeared in a mock exam. 

    The mistake was spotted by girls retaking the English exam in Plymouth.

    Exam board GL Assessment said it was "down to human error" and said a further retest would not be necessary. 

    An investigation was launched in September following claims some schoolchildren had already seen an 11-plus exam paper before taking the test.
