  13. Fans will be relieved when Torquay sale happenspublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2016

    Brent Pilnick
    BBC Sport

The deal to sell Torquay United to new owners will come as a relief to all concerned with the National League club.

After lottery-winning owner Thea Bristow ended her backing in 2015 the current board took over to save the club from extinction and had little financial firepower to mount a serious challenge to get back into the league.

    Plainmoor

Finances have been tight since - Torquay have closed their youth academy, dispensed with one manager because his wages were too costly and another because they could not pay him at all, while current boss Kevin Nicholson has also had to double up as bus driver at times.

Torquay have already had one failed takeover this year when Gaming Internaitonal pulled out.

All Gulls fans want now is someone who can come in, bring stability to the club and possibly finance a challenge to get back into the Football League in the seasons to come.
