A 26-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, external after an alleged attack in Penryn which left a man in hospital.

A mechanism which triggered the release of the safety net in a human cannonball act was not properly set, resulting in the death of a stuntman, a court heard.

Scott May, 40, of Higher Bosavern, St Just, near Penzance, and the company Stunts UK Ltd admitted failing to ensure the safety of workers at the event.
At Maidstone Crown Court, company director May was given a 12-month community order. Stunts UK Ltd was fined £100,000.

A lorry man which ploughed a lorry into a Christmas market in the heart of Berlin "showed no signs of slowing down", a witness says.
The truck, which was loaded with steel beams, veered into the market at 20:14 local time (19:14 GMT), one of its busiest times, crashing through wooden huts and stands packed with tourists and locals. Twelve people were killed and 48 injured.

"There are two main roads either side of the square [where the market was], the truck couldn't have accidentally just veered off. It was a horror ... in front of you."

Chad Gibson was last seen in Fore Street in the town at about 18:00 on 19 December 2015. He had been in St Austell earlier that day. His mother has offered a reward of £2,000 for information about his whereabouts.

A new counselling service has been launched for 16 to 24 year olds with cancer in Cornwall.
A clinical psychologist is being funded by a local charity, Larf, to form part of the teenage and young adult team at the newly-opened Cove MacMillan Cancer Support Centre at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
Larf Cornwall, external was set up in memory of Cornish teens Lauren and Rosie, who both died from the disease.

Thirty-seven-year-old Karl Bunster (pictured), from Hastings, was last seen in Mann Street in the town on 17 December last year. Ben Walton, 48, and Stacey McClymont, 28, both of Cowick Hill, Exeter, went on trial charged with murdering him.
Jurors were discharged on Monday and a retrial ordered at Croydon Crown Court.
A project which hopes to create a new mountain bike trail centre in Cornwall has successfully raised enough funds to carry out a feasibility study, organisers say.
Those behind Bikepark Cornwall, proposed for a site near Bodmin, said £6,000 required for the study was secured via a crowdfunding campaign, external, which raised £2,261 from 120 supporters, and private investors.

A 91-year-old woman involved in a crash in Barnstaple on Saturday night has died, police have confirmed.
Devon and Cornwall Police said Margaret Pine was a passenger in the Daihatsu Move car whcih crashed into a brick wall in thick fog shortly after 10pm.
She died in the early hours of this morning. The other two women, aged 76 and 85 and both from Barnstaple, remain in hospital.

Matthew Cranch, 24, from Cornwall, died when a safety net collapsed during Scott May's Daredevil Stunt Show in Kent, in 2011.
Stunts UK Ltd has been fined £100,000.
Mr Cranch's family say they will never be able to accept or recover from his loss.
