    A major search is under way for a missing 32-year-old man in Plymouth, police say.

    The operation to trace Arkadiusz Sienkicwicz started on Monday night, with officers saying, external they were "growing increasingly concerned" for his welfare.

    The search has so far included a police helicopter and lifeboats. 

    Arkadiusz, who lives in the city, was described as of medium build, with a shaven head and with a tattoo on his neck. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a fur hood, and grey trousers or tracksuit bottoms.

    Exeter City winger Lee Holmes is set to miss much of the rest of the season after damaging ankle ligaments.

    The 29-year-old will need surgery after being injured in a collision with goalkeeper Artur Krysiak in the Boxing Day draw at Yeovil Town.

    Holmes, who has scored five goals in 16 games this season, will have an operation on Tuesday.

    "He will be a huge loss to the side and he is expected to be out for some time. We are harbouring hopes that he will be able to return to training and continue his rehab for him to be able to compete again this season," Exeter boss Paul Tisdale said.

    A documentary is being made to capture memories of the Blitz in Exeter.

    The film is being put together by a team from the Underground Passages and Exeter College. 

    It'll mark the the 75th anniversary of the World War Two bombings, in May 1942, which claimed more than 250 lives in the city, and destroyed much of its centre.

    Fundraisers have "saved the life" of a man shot in the head during a robbery at his parents' restaurant in Antigua.

    Christopher Tester, 37, from Torquay, has arrived back in Devon after a campaign raised more than £100,000 to get him home for treatment.

    He was wounded on Christmas Day while trying to shield his mother.

    Friend Charlotte Williams said: "We never in a million years thought we would raise enough to get him home. It really has saved Chris's life."

    Superman, Spiderman, Donald Trump, Banana Man, two black swans and a Geisha "girl" were called out on a lifeboat shout very early on New Year's Day, the RNLI says.

    In a scene like Rodney and Del Boy foiling a mugging in the sitcom Only Fools and Horses while dressed as Batman and Robin (pictured), the Looe crew members dashed through the streets in their party costumes at about 00:50 on Sunday after reports that four red distress flares were fired nearby.

    Following a search, nothing was found and the lifeboat stood down at 01:45. 

    The person who let the flares off was later traced and "spoken to" for his "irresponsible actions", the RNLI said.

    Ryan Harley scored twice to help Exeter thrash Leyton Orient 4-0 at St James Park.

    Exeter made an excellent start by taking the lead inside four minutes as recalled striker Reuben Reid provided the assist for David Wheeler to score his fourth goal in five matches with a deft close-range finish.

    Ollie Watkins, fresh from a hat-trick the day after his 21st birthday at Newport last time out, missed several chances to increase Exeter's lead, with one of those a fierce shot that smashed against the post.

    Any fears Exeter may have had of paying the price for those missed chances were dispelled five minutes after the break when Wheeler turned provider for Harley, making his first start since September, to finish at the back-post.

    The protests oppose the latest increase in rail fares.

    Rail passengers are facing higher fares across the UK with average price increases of 2.3%. 

    Fares have gone up by around 25% since the mid-1990s, and some tickets have spiked by 40% in just a decade, BBC transport correspondent Richard Westcott said.

    This is what happened to Ellen (who only wishes to be identified by her first name), who runs a guest house in Newquay, when she was just doors away from a so-called "pop-up brothel". Fourteen such brothels have been reported to police in the town since last July. Those operating them book holiday lets for a week and then move on.

    Ellen said finding out about the brothel was "scary". She said: "This road has quite a few children in it, and I also have to protect my guests. It's not what you want in the area."

    Police in Newquay said they were determined to crack down on the illegal activity.

    Three fire crews have been tackling a blaze in a derelict motel in Paignton overnight. 

    Crews were called to the old Torbay Holiday Motel on Totnes Road just after 23:00 on Monday and found the first floor and roof on fire.

    Fire crews said the first floor was 20% damaged by fire and 80% damaged by smoke.

    Buses have replaced trains between Looe and Liskeard because the line has been blocked by a broken-down train.

    Plymouth lost top spot in League Two as a superb defensive display saw Barnet hold on for a 1-0 win at The Hive.

    The Bees took the lead in the 14th minute, with the diminutive Mauro Vilhete sending Nana Kyei's corner looping in at the far post.

    Kyei almost put the Bees two up when he raced past his man and into the box, only for goalkeeper Luke McCormick to produce a fine save.

    Barnet flew out of the blocks after the break, with John Akinde denied by McCormick before Kyei clipped the crossbar.
