    Devon and Cornwall's Major Crime Unit is in St Austell after a man's body was found.  

    Enquiries are currently underway and a scene guard remains around the Truro Road and Bridge Road park.

    Edgecombe Road has also been closed off.

    Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    Police have launched a murder investigation after a man's body was found in a park in St Austell.

    Officers were called to Truro Road just after 05:00 and found the body of an unidentified man.

    A 24-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, and a 21-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.

    Inspection work has been carried out across HM Coastguard’s search and rescue helicopter bases after the global fleet of S92s were stopped from flying.

    All S92 helicopters around the world, including those at Newquay, had to undergo a mandatory inspection with repairs made if necessary.

    Helicopters at Sumburgh, Stornoway, Humberside, Newquay and Inverness are all now back in service, bosses said.

    Damien Oliver, Assistant Director with responsibility for aviation at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: "This was a highly unusual situation but we were prepared and we pulled out every stop.

    "Over the coming months, we will be mixing our fleet of aircraft so that we will always have a contingency option in the event of a fleet grounding."

    Police are concerned for the welfare of a 53-year-old man called Michael Green.

    He is from Stevenage in Hertfordshire and is believed to be in the Devon and Cornwall area.

    He was last seen at around 10:00 on Tuesday and thought to be travelling in a distinctive black Ford Mondeo estate car with ‘DAS’ in white letters on the side.

    Michael is thought to have been wearing black trousers and white trainers. He's of a slim build with short, straight black hair and may have a red rucksack with him.

    There are calls for Plymouth to introduce a food waste collection service when it starts fortnightly bin collections in May.

    The Plymouth Food Waste Partnership has released the results of a 12-month feasibility study today.

    It says fortnightly waste collections work best if food waste is collected weekly to prevent smells, vermin and mess.

    Staff from the study will be putting their findings to the city council later this month.

    Saracens captain Brad Barritt has been banned for three weeks after admitting to a dangerous tackle on Exeter lock Geoff Parling on Saturday.

    Richard Barrington, sent off for his part in the incident, was cleared of dangerous charging by a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel. Prop Barrington, 27, is now free to play again immediately, while Barritt, 30, is suspended until 31 January.

    Barritt had initially tackled Parling high and Barrington followed up with a shoulder into the head of the 33-year-old England international, who was carried off on a stretcher.

    Under the new interpretation of the high-tackle rules, which came into effect on 3 January, Barrington was sent off by referee Ian Tempest. However, the panel at Tuesday's hearing in London judged Parling was already unconscious from Barritt's tackle and fell into the contact with Barrington.

    Rural communities in the South West are disadvantaged when it comes to caring for people with dementia according to a new study by Plymouth University.

    A number of families in Devon were interviewed as part of the research which has identified problems of isolation and safety on farms for those dealing with the condition.
