A former Cornwall Councillor is calling for changes to planning policy to reduce the risk of contamination to local rivers from new developments.
Harry Blakey says too many new homes are being built too quickly without the necessary drainage and sewage works.
South West Water and Cornwall Council say this is not the case but Mr Blakey says the Red River near Hayle is suffering.
