    A millionaire businessman was killed by his "cheating gold-digging" Ukrainian wife, who attempted to claim his assets within days of his death, an inquest has heard

    IT consultant Barry Pring, 47, from Devon was mown down by a speeding vehicle with no lights and stolen licence plates as he waited for a taxi in Kiev in 2008.

    His wife Ganna Ziuzina, a former stripper 19 years his junior, had returned to a restaurant to find a missing glove.

    Giving evidence, Peter Clifford, who was best man at the couple's wedding said Mr Pring had shared a concern with him that his wife was a "gold digger".

    He also said Mrs Pring told him local police were corrupt, adding "if you pay them you can get away with anything".

    Mr Pring's brother, Shaughan, told the inquest his brother's records revealed that his wife "was having an affair with a Ukrainian man".

    The coroner ruled Mr Pring death was unlawful killing.

    Barry Pring was the victim of unlawful killing, the coroner has ruled in an inquest into his death.

    The 47-year-old was killed by a speeding car as he tried to hail a taxi on the hard shoulder of a dual carriageway in Kiev in 2008.

    In giving her ruling Dr Elizabeth Earland said she was "satisfied" that although much of the evidence was "circumstantial, nevertheless, in my view it is overwhelming".

    She said he had been killed by a car travelling at high speed without lights after being tricked into standing on the westbound carriageway.

    Dozens of firefighters tackled the blaze at the Four Winds Inn overnight. No-one was injured.

    A wealthy British businessman who was run over in the Ukraine was "murdered" by his internet bride while they celebrated their first wedding anniversary, his best friend has told an inquest into his death. 

    Barry Pring, 47, suffered horrific injuries when he was hit by a vehicle - possibly a lorry - while waiting for a taxi outside a restaurant in Kiev with his wife, Ganna Ziuzina, on February 16, 2008.

    Det Con Jonathan Watts, from Devon and Cornwall Police, said he had been in London looking for Ms Ziuzina last week and added that it was likely she was abroad.

    He said of the accident: "Witnesses describe a car travelling at 75mph. There was no evidence of braking or slowing before the car left the scene. Witnesses recorded their impression that it was deliberate."

    The police were called and Ms Ziuzina was spoken to before asking to be allowed to go home at 02:00. 

    Det Con Watts said she left her house again shortly afterwards and returned to an area near the accident, staying for about three hours. He said Devon and Cornwall Police had been unable to directly contact Ms Ziuzina "at any stage"

    The inquest, at Devon County Hall, heard the couple, who had ordered 20 vodkas during the evening, left the restaurant to flag down a taxi.

    Mr Pring suffered horrific injuries, but his wife, who had returned to the restaurant for her gloves, was unhurt.

    The Pring family has always claimed his "cold" Ukrainian wife arranged the killing for money.

    Analysis from planning consultancy Barton Willmore, external shows that in the past 10 years, the number of people who commute to the city has grown by nearly 8,000.

    Five-time Devon Olympian, Jo Pavey, has announced she'll run in this year's London Marathon.

    Pavey, 43, set a personal best of two hours 28 minutes 24 seconds when she ran in the event in 2011.

    "I wanted to be sure I was injury free and could crack on with my training before committing," she said.

    Jemima Sumgong will defend her title on 23 April, with world champion Mare Dibaba and two-time winner Mary Keitany also in the field.

    A police investigation into the death of a 23-year-old man on Tresco in the Isles of Scilly is to be reviewed by another force.

    Josh Clayton's body was found on rocks in September 2015, 10 days after he went missing from a party.

    Earlier this month an inquest into his death collapsed after evidence emerged that he had been involved in a row before his death.  

    Devon and Cornwall Police, external, who have been criticised by the Clayton family, said in light of the new evidence, it would be carrying out a new investigation and its previous investigation would be reviewed by Dorset Police, external.

    Josh's mother, Tracey Clayton, said: "I haven't got much faith or trust but that will hopefully be restored. I always had respect for the police before, and hopefully now they're going to make amends and find out what happened to Josh, instead of making assumptions."

    A British survivor of the terrorist shooting in Tunisia has told an inquest there was "pandemonium" in the hotel after the gunfire had diminished.

    Retired policeman Michael Perry told the Royal Courts of Justice they had been led into a room by hotel staff, but he tried in vain to secure the building and keep people quiet. Thirty-eight people died in the massacre in 2015 - 30 of them were British including 59-year-old Stephen Mellor from Bodmin. 

    Today the inquest heard a statement from Allison Heathcote who was injured - and who's husband Philip was killed. They'd gone to the sun-drenched resort of Sousse with their son. It was a holiday to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. 

    Allison Heathcote said the gunshots seemed to carry on in rapid succession. They dived on to sand in between the sunbeds. She became aware she'd been shot in the arms. She tried to see if her husband was ok but he never responded. The inquest is expected to continue for another six weeks.

    The car which hit and killed millionaire businessman Barry Pring had a stolen licence plate and was being driven at high speed with no lights, an inquest has been told.

    Mr Pring, 47, was trying to flag down a taxi after a meal with his younger wife to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, when he was hit in 2008.

    His Ukrainian wife,  Ganna Ziuzina, was unhurt, having returned to the restaurant to find her gloves.

    Mr Pring's family believes his wife arranged to have him killed for his money.

    The family of an man injured in a road crash during the summer has received anonymous information about the collision.

    Police were called to West End Road, Bradninch, on 11 June 2016. A man, 53, was found in the road with injuries consistent of being hit by a vehicle, police said.

    The man's family has since received anonymous information about the crash which has been passed on to the investigation team. 

    Officers are trying to trace the person who provided the family with the information.

Mr Pring married Ms Ziuzina, a former stripper who was almost 20 years his junior, in 2007 but his family and friends said they did not believe she loved him and that she treated him coldly. 

    His best friend, Peter Clifford, was best man at the couple's Kiev wedding and, giving evidence at the inquest at Devon County Hall, said Mr Pring was "totally under her influence". 

    Coroner, Dr Elizabeth Earland said that "strenuous" - but ultimately unsuccessful - attempts had been made to try to get Ms Ziuzina to attend the hearing. She read out a statement given by Ms Ziuzina who said she had given three separate statements to police in Ukraine and did not "believe I can add anything further".
