    A 20-year-old Newton Abbot man has appeared before magistrates in Plymouth, charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drug MDMA and one count of intent to supply cannabis.

    He was arrested following the death of a 15-year-old girl in Newton Abbot on Saturday.

    The teenager was found unconscious in Bakers Park. She later died in hospital. Two other girls who were taken to hospital as a precaution have since been released.

    Jacob Khanlarian didn't enter a plea and was remanded in custody.

    Organisers of the Stithians Show say it is the largest one day agricultural show in Cornwall, and one of the largest in the country.

    The Stithians Agricultural Association said its precise origins were "shrouded in uncertainty, external" but that newspapers reported a "Stithians Annual Show Fair" in the late 1830s.

    An inquest into the death of a 16-year-old girl found dead at a school has opened in Truro.

    Dagmara Przybysz died at Pool Academy, Redruth on 17 May 2016.

    The three-day inquest will hear from more than 20 people.

    Coroner Dr Emma Carlyon told the inquest that Pool Academy had been inspected by Ofsted in June and was rated as 'Good'.

    Ofsted is aware the inquest is taking place, Dr Carlyon said.

    People who park on zebra crossings' zig-zag lines face fines and three penalty points on their driving licences, police have warned.

    Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police issued the warning on Facebook, external after seeing several cases of such parking in Camborne while on patrol on Saturday night.

    After one person on social media made the joke that the drivers "need to pick up their kebabs!!!", officers replied: "They may indeed need to. However, when these photos were taken, there were free parking spaces less than 30 meters further down the road!"

    Police said their photographs and a report had been submitted to the force's central ticket unit "who will progress accordingly".

    A man has been charged with drugs offences by police investigating the death of a teenage girl in Devon at the weekend.

    The 15-year-old died at Torbay Hospital after she was found unconscious early on Saturday in Newton Abbot after ingesting a substance.

    Officers said a 20-year-old from Newton Abbot had been arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and one count of supply of class B drugs.

    Jacob Khanlarian is due to appear before magistrates in Plymouth later.

    Police investigating the death of a teenage girl in Devon after she took a substance formerly known as a legal high have warned that all such substances are now illegal.

    The 15-year-old girl died after suffering an adverse reaction to a substance at the weekend. She was found unconscious in the early hours of Saturday at Bakers Park in Newton Abbot. She was not from the area.

    Police have appealed for information about who supplied the drug, believed to be a new psychoactive substance (NPS), formerly known as a legal high.

    Det Supt Ken Lamont, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "The law changed in May 2016, they are no longer 'legal highs'.

    "NPS are illegal and so is the selling and distributing of these drugs. That is why this is a criminal investigation ... these substances can kill and we have another tragic case on our hands."
