    The death of a man whose body was found in Plymouth is not being treated as suspicious, police say.

    A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of the man, aged 24, was found at a flat in Ermington Terrace, Mutley, at the weekend.

    Devon and Cornwall Police said they were satisfied that there were "no suspicious circumstances surrounding this death" after getting the results of a post-mortem examination, and were "not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident".

    The arrested woman had her bail cancelled and was "released with no further action to be taken against her", officers added, external.

    A file is being prepared for the coroner.

    Cornwall Council has taken a step nearer to reducing the number of councillors, external representing the county - but not necessarily by the amount recommended by the Boundary Commission.

    The commission said it wanted the number to fall from 123 to just 87, external.

    Council Leader Adam Paynter said: "We've put forward [in a submission to the commission] a number of 99 councillors. We should find out in the next few weeks what the commission will decide."

    A free school in North Devon has been given a rating of inadequate by inspectors.

    The Route 39 Academy at Higher Clovelly received the worst Ofsted rating in every category, including effectiveness of leadership, quality of teaching and outcomes for pupils.

    Inspectors found that Year 11 pupils had not been entered for external exams, a decision it says "seems to have been driven at least as much by organisational concerns as by a consideration of individuals pupils' educational needs".

    It continued: "The delay in the availability of the sixth-form provision until the school's new building is completed in time for the academic year 2018/19 appears to have played a significant part in the decision-making process".

    BBC News has approached Route 39 Academy for a comment.

    Four fire appliances tackled a blaze at one of Teignmouth's most prominent buildings after an initial three sent to the scene asked for back up.

    Crews tackled the blaze at the Beachcomber Cafe on the promenade after it broke out at about 22:45, external on Tuesday.

    The kitchen area of the cafe was well alight when crews arrived and was later reported as severely damaged by fire. The remainder of the property was severely damaged by heat and smoke, firefighters said.

    There were no reports of any injuries.

    There are more than 15,000 drivers over the age of 80 in Cornwall and almost 1,500 over the age of 90 on top of that.

    But research released today by the University of Swansea and the BBC said older drivers were involved in three to four times fewer accidents than men in their late teens and early 20s.

    The number of people aged over 90 holding a driving licence in Britain has topped 100,000 for the first time.

    Older drivers are required to fill in a self-assessment every three years declaring they are medically fit to continue driving.

    Builders of a biogas plant have admitted safety breaches which led to the death of a Romanian labourer.

    Thirty-four-year-old Ionel Soci was crushed to death when a wooden frame used for holding poured concrete collapsed on him in Higher Fraddon, Cornwall.

    His 28-year-old wife, Monica, was pregnant with their second child.

    FLI Energy, PJL Construction (Scotland), and Premier Construction, all admitted offences under the Health and Safety Act at Exeter Crown Court.

    Torbay Council has fined its own waste company, TOR2, £42,000 for missed collections.

    The charges have been issued over the past eight months and follow a recent period where bins weren't emptied because of a shortage of dustcart drivers.

    Citizens Advice in the South West is writing to the region's MPs to urge them to pause the introduction of a new benefits system until significant problems are fixed.

    Universal Credit, external is due to be rolled out across Devon and Cornwall in stages by mid-2018.

    The government's rejecting the claims, saying more than 80% of people already on the new benefit were satisfied with the service.

    But Citizens Advice said more than one in three people its staff had seen on the new system faced delays of more than six weeks to receive income. Some waited more than 10 weeks, it said.

    One of Teignmouth's most prominent buildings has been severely damaged by fire.

    Four fire crews tackled the blaze at the Beachcomber Cafe on the promenade late last night.

    Police were also called to control large crowds that gathered in the area to watch the drama unfold after emergency services were called at about 22:45, external on Tuesday.

    There were no reports of any injuries.
