BBC News OnlineA comedy festival featuring top acts such as Bill Bailey, Alan Davies, Russell Kane and Katherine Ryan has been postponed this weekend due to flooding fears.
Organisers of the Stand up in the Wyldes, external at Bude in Cornwall said they had "very sadly been forced to postpone" the three-day festival.
The site of what is thought to be the first festival of its kind in Cornwall had been hit by "unseasonal and torrential rain".
Organisers said it would "only take one heavy shower to re-flood the site, rendering it unsafe".
The festival would be rearranged for the first half of next year and all tickets would be valid for that event.

A pre-inquest review has been held into the death of a Courtney Saunders aka Smith, an 18-year-old girl from Truro who died in London in February.
A provisional date for the inquest has been set for January 2018, and it is expected to last three or four days.

BBC News OnlineRobbers used a hydraulic hoist to steal a cash machine at a Totnes filling station.

They used a stolen telehoist to lift the cash machine, leaving the twisted remains of its metal anchoring points and a smashed wall.

The amount of money in the cash machine has not yet been revealed.

The statement was made by Weiser Construction after the building work appeared to be abandoned.
A company spokesman said it applied for "voluntary administration" three weeks ago, after its bank account was frozen.
"Weiser Construction have had an independent audit undertaken which has highlighted account discrepancies," he said.

Amy Gladwell, BBC News OnlinePolice say they are urgently seeking witnesses to a sexual assault on board a train after the Boardmasters festival in Newquay.
A 17-year-old girl was "touched inappropriately" on a Great Western Railway service from Newquay to Plymouth just before 21:00 on Saturday 12 August, officers say.
The offender gave his name as Lance and is described as having pronounced sideburns.

Investigating officer DC Matt Grieve, said: "This was a deeply upsetting and shocking incident for this young woman. If you were on board this train and witnessed what happened, or saw two men acting suspiciously, then I would urge you to get in touch."

The plans continue to be dogged by criticism from campaigners and some politicians, including claims of a conflict of interest.
Health commissioners have been criticised for using the same consultants to assess the problems and deliver the solutions - but say a fair tendering process was adhered to.
Charlie Ratcliffe, from the consultants Carnall Farrar, which was involved, said there had been a "competitive process", which itself was "specified and agreed by the NHS".

A man has a suspected broken jaw after an assault in Plymouth, police have said.
Officers were called to the Co-op in Whitleigh at 11:40 on Monday morning.
"The victim sustained facial injuries and a suspected broken jaw. He has been taken to Derriford Hospital via land ambulance," police said.
Officers are appealing for witnesses following the incident outside the store.

The authority said stolen items were found at the building, when the council told the eight to leave.

He said it was "fortunate" the fire had not spread to other parts of the former hotel.
The building has since been made secure to keep people out.

BBC News OnlineThe Duchy of Cornwall says it will reopen talks about making Crantock beach safer after a holidaymaker died last week.
Crantock Parish Council has said it warned the duchy there could be a "potentially fatal situation" back in April, after the river running on the beach changed its course.

The beach is owned by the National Trust but the Duchy of Cornwall owns the land below the high water mark.
A spokesperson for the duchy said: "We plan to meet again with the parish council, National Trust and other stakeholders to see what more can possibly be done."

BreakingA man was "stabbed in the hip and doused in petrol" in Torquay, police have said.
Officers told the BBC "the suspects were not successful in their attempt to set him alight" and “the victim received hospital treatment and is recovering well”.
Police were called to Hele Road, Torquay at about 21:30 on Thursday 6 July.
Officers said a 37-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released under investigation.
An attempted murder inquiry is under way.

People angry at plans to close 71 inpatient beds at community hospitals in Devon have been holding a protest this lunchtime.
The closures at Seaton and Okehampton start today.
Exeter and Honiton will follow over the next two weeks.
