    A four-year-old boy who was found dead in a swimming pool at an activity centre in north Devon was from Weymouth, police said.

    The boy was found in the swimming pool at Knapp House in Northam, near Bideford, on Monday afternoon.

    Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The boy, who was from Weymouth, had been on holiday in the area with family."

    Police said the death was "being treated as unexplained".

    Great Britain's Suzanna Hext says it was "completely insane" to claim three gold medals at the Para-dressage European Championships in Sweden.

    The 29-year-old won the freestyle and individual events, and helped GB to team gold on her championships debut.

    Hext, from Cornwall, was paralysed in a riding accident in 2012 but got back on a horse again two years later.

    "I think mentally I was so strong and determined to get back in the saddle, that it helped me," she said. "I haven't really listened to any of the doctors or surgeons - I've had surgeons that have been on my side, and I've had surgeons that aren't on my side.

    "A lot of people would say I'm quite stubborn, and that's probably how I've got back to where I am today."

    Firefighters from Devon and Cornwall have dealt with a tractor fire near Broadwoodwidger in Devon.

    The crews from Holsworthy and Launceston were called to Logworth Cross, external at 10:10 where the vehicle was described as well alight and left "badly damaged".

    The disgraced former Devon NHS boss has been given a deadline to respond to officials trying to get back the money she and her husband defrauded from the NHS.

    Paula Vasco-Knight admitted fraudulently paying her husband Stephen £11,000 for a publication that never existed.

    At the time she was chief executive of the South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and national lead for equalities for NHS England.

    Exeter Crown Court today heard the couple had not responded to the an Order under the Proceeds of Crime Act over the past 15 weeks, and have now been ordered to do so by 12 September.

    The purpose is to find out details of her financial assets.

    They are appealing for help finding David Kavern who is described as Asian, 5ft 7ins, of thin build, with black hair.

    A 64-year-old man from Umberleigh has died after a vintage tractor overturned in Devon on Monday.

    Devon and Cornwall Police said, external the incident happened on land at Stowford near Umberleigh.

    Emergency services were called at 14:30 after the 1950s Ferguson T20 tractor overturned in a field and trapped the driver underneath. The tractor was towing another tractor at the time.

    The driver was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he was pronounced dead.

    A four-year-old boy who died after being found in a swimming pool at an activity park in north Devon was there as part of a Narcotics Anonymous camp.

    A statement from the Devon Narcotics Anonymous Campout Committee said the camp was a "week-long summer holiday camp-out for members of Narcotics Anonymous and their families at Knapp House in Northam, near Bideford, and for the sixth year in a row, we have all enjoyed a wonderful week of sharing lives of complete freedom from drug and alcohol use."

    The statement from the committee continued: "One of the activities we organize with Knapp House is the supervised use of their swimming pool with their trained lifeguards.

    "Very tragically ... something has gone horrifically wrong, and a young child of one of our members drowned in the pool."

    "We are not aware of the exact details of how this happened, and the police are obviously investigating.

    "We find all attempt at expressing our sorrow and concern for the parents and siblings of this child inadequate, but as is normal in our fellowship, they will have plenty of support as they face their tragedy.

    "In Narcotics Anonymous, we share no specific religious beliefs, but the entire campsite formed a circle, held hands, and prayed for the family and their lost child.

    "In line with our tradition of anonymity, we are happy to provide any further information we can, but will seek to protect the personal identity of our members."

    A four-year-old boy has died after being found in a swimming pool at an activity centre in north Devon.

    Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were notified around 14:55 yesterday, to reports of a missing four-year-old boy at Knapp House Activity Centre in Northam, Bideford.

    "Following an extensive search assisted by the police helicopter, the child was located in a swimming pool at the site and taken to North Devon District Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

    "The boy’s next of kin have been informed and enquiries continue.

    "Officers are investigating the circumstances and the death is currently being treated as unexplained."

    A woman has died after collapsing at a night club in north Devon.

    Paramedics were called to the Fever & Boutique nightclub in Barnstaple after the woman had a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Sunday morning.

    She treated by ambulance crews before being taken to hospital, where she died later. Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

    A statement from the club said: "A young lady collapsed in the venue in the early hours of Sunday morning very shortly after arriving for a night out.

    "An ambulance was called for straight away and CPR was given at the scene. Tragically she passed away later in hospital.

    "The police are not treating the circumstances as suspicious. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the her family and friends."

    Citizens Advice in the South West says it has grave concerns more people face struggling to pay rent as putting a roof over your head becomes less affordable.

    In the past year, offices in the region have helped about 20,000 people cope with housing issues.

    The government said it was implementing the Homelessness Reduction Act to ensure that more people got the help they needed earlier.
