    A teenage boy has been praised for his actions in helping rescue a girl who fell on to rocks and into water near Mousehole, in Cornwall.

    The teenage girl is in hospital with severe injuries after falling 20ft on to rocks near Mousehole on Sunday afternoon. It's understood she hit rocks and ended up in shallow water.

    Emergency services said the 15-year-old boy, who saw her fall at Penlee Point, raised the alarm before going into the sea to keep her above the water until help arrived.

    Penlee Lifeboat coxswain Patch Harvey said the boy's actions "probably saved her life".

    She was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

    A man has died after having a cardiac arrest at a pub in Barnstaple, police have said.

    Emergency services were called to The Panniers pub on Thursday. The 29-year-old was taken to hospital, but died on Saturday.

    Officers say his death is not being treated as suspicious.

    Hill crossed twice in the second half to earn a bonus-point win after first-half scores from Ollie Woodburn and Lachie Turner, but it was a lacklustre performance from the Chiefs.

    Harlequins led at half-time with tries from James Chisholm and Tim Visser.

    Firefighters cut holes in an industrial estate building in Exeter to tackle a blaze which broke out inside.

    Nearly 40 firefighters were called to the structure in Alphinbrook Court, Marsh Barton, just after 5:30.

    Incident Commander Ian Bartlett, of Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, said crews initially cut through shutter doors to get a better look.

    He said: "We were able to assess the extent of the fire and make some further openings to attack the fire from a number of different directions using the wind and ventilation to our benefit."

    Three people are in hospital following a three-vehicle crash near Landrake on the A38, police have said.

    Officers arrived at the scene on the A38 at about 15:10 on Saturday.

    The three vehicles involved were a Volkswagen Golf, a Volkswagen Passat and a Citroen C4 Picasso.

    The male driver of the Golf and a female passenger sustained serious injuries and remain in Derriford hospital for treatment, police said.

    The male driver of the Passat is also in hospital in a serious condition.

    Police are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses.

    An elderly couple are getting rid of household appliances they bought more than 50 years ago.

    Sydney Saunders, 83, and wife Rachel, 81, from Exeter, have a tumble dryer, water boiler, cooker and washing machine, all in recent working order.

    They bought some of the items when they got married in 1956 and have been using most of them since.

    Included in the items for sale is a Servis washing machine which the couple bought for £60 when they first got married.

    The tumble dryer was bought when their first daughter was born 55 years ago and was used until a couple of months ago.

    They also have a Baby Belling cooker bought in 1956 for £19 and a five-gallon boiler bought in 1959 for about £15.

    The couple decided to get rid of the appliances after "having a clear out".

    They said they were "not interested" in money and hope a museum or collector will take them.

    Thirty-nine firefighters have been at the scene of a major blaze on an industrial estate in Exeter.

    Six engines and an aerial ladder platform were called to a building in Alphinbrook Court, Marsh Barton, just after 5:30.

    These buildings are corrugated steel, typical warehouse style; and there are wisps of smoke puffing out of upstairs windows.

    The fire is ongoing but is relatively under control.

    A teenage girl has suffered severe injuries after falling about 20ft on to rocks and into the sea in west Cornwall.

    A lifeboat, paramedics, a rescue helicopter and the air ambulance all attended the incident on Sunday afternoon near Mousehole.

    Emergency services said a 15-year-old boy who saw her fall at Penlee Point raised the alarm before going into the sea to keep her above the water until help arrived.

    She was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

    Traffic in Exeter may be affected by a fire on one of Devon's biggest industrial estates this morning.

    Dozens of firefighters were called to a warehouse in Alphinbrook Court, Marsh Barton, just after 5:30.

    Crews used hydraulic equipment to gain entry to the building.

    Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said that an initial eight personnel wearing breathing apparatus was reduced to four.

    BBC Radio Devon's Richard Green reported earlier that the blaze was seemingly under control or possibly out.

    But fire crews warned that traffic was likely to be affected.

    Drivers may have to pay more to cross the Tamar Bridge during busy times in the future.

    Forecasts say the bridge between Saltash and Plymouth will be unable to cope with increased traffic levels within 15 years.

    Plymouth and Cornwall councils are looking at spending £20,000 on a study to see if offering lower off-peak charges could help.

    They're also considering starting a new park and ride bus service based in South East Cornwall.

    Firefighters were called to Alphinbrook Court, Marsh Barton, Exeter, just after 05:30.

    Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it dispatched crews after a passer-by reported alarms sounding, thick black smoke and flames coming from the rear of the commercial premises.

    The blaze is seemingly under control or possibly out.
