A school has quashed rumours of a student planning to bring in a gun.
Kingsbridge Community College was prompted to email parents in response to concerns about the threat.
Vice principal Wendy Ohlson said in an email: "You may have heard through your child of a rumour among the student body that a student is planning to bring a gun into school on Friday.
"Please be reassured that this has been fully investigated and we are confident that there is no substance to the rumour."

A national housebuilder which has been issued with a 28-day "temporary stop notice" by Plymouth City Council has said it will stop work at agreed times at weekends in line with planning permission.
Persimmon Homes received what the council termed "a warning shot" following the firm's breach of agreed weekend working hours at its Saltram Meadow development on the former Plymstock Quarry site.
The council said building work on the site has been continuing after 13:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, in contravention of the hours agreed under the terms of the developer's planning permission.
According to the council it has happened on at least two weekends and possibly other occasions and despite being contacted about the breach, Persimmon Homes has failed to take steps to stop this activity.
Daniel Heathcote, director-in-charge at Persimmon Homes Cornwall, said: "We have put the necessary processes in place and advised our contractors of the permitted development times as set out by the planning permission.
“The stop notice does not mean we have to halt construction at Saltram Meadow. It simply means we must cease work after 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays, which we will do."
A Devon man has been rescued from his burning home by a neighbour, after waking to a house "full of smoke".
Melvyn Britton of Kentisbeare near Cullompton said: "Well I suppose I dozed off, and then I woke up at about quarter past 11 and it was full of smoke."
Despite his first thought "being for the dog", he called his neighbour John Snell who swiftly came to the rescue.
Mr Snell said: "I saw him at the window, phoned the fire brigade, then got the ladder up and got him out of the window and guided him down."
Fire crews were called to the house in Broad Road just after 23:00 on Wednesday to reports of a fire in the living room and a man trapped upstairs.
Fire crews broke down the front door and rescued Mr Britton's dog.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
Meat worth an estimated £20,000 has been stolen from a lorry in Cornwall.
The meat was taken from a lorry belonging to M&W Wholesale Meat on the Windmill Trading Estate in Fowey at some point between 19:00 on Wednesday and 05:00 on Thursday.
Police are asking with any information to get in touch on 101.
Police are appealing after both the ice cream kiosks on Teignmouth Seafront were broken into, external.
The two kiosks, at either end of the promenade, were both broken into overnight on December 13.

Plans to redevelop Plymouth Argyle's Home Park have unanimously been approved by Plymouth City Council.
The club's owner, James Brent, wants to redevelop and extend the 65-year-old grandstand and build a hotel and ice rink.

Police say they're becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of 15-year-old boy who's been missing since early Wednesday morning.
Daniel Chambers from Tipton St John, in Sidmouth, was last seen at his home by his parents at about 07:30.

Daniel, who likes to visit Sidmouth and Beer, is described as clean shaven, about 6ft (1.8m) tall, of slim build, with short dark brown hair.
He's thought to be wearing dark-coloured chinos, black suede shoes, a grey hooded top, dark bomber jacket and carrying a black rucksack with a green coloured DC Logo.
Anyone who's seen Daniel or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police.

A police crackdown on off-roading in Cornwall has led to the seizure of one vehicle.
Operation Blueranger covered off-road paths from the United Downs area to the rural communities around Truro and Camborne, following complaints from members of the public about the illegal use of off-road vehicles in the area.
The operation on Sunday 3 December involved Devon and Cornwall Police, Dorset Police Alliance Roads Policing Team and the National Police Air Service helicopter.
Officers also spent time educating off-road bikers.
PC Ashley Fuller said: “We hope this operation sends out the message to local communities that their concerns about this problem are being taken seriously, we are listening, and that we are working at targeting the problem where possible.”

It happened in Barnfield Walk, Kingsbridge, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The 32-year-old man has been arrested and is receiving treatment for minor injuries.
Police said: "Officers attended the scene and a baton gun, also known as an Attenuating Energy Projectile (AEP) was discharged."
An AEP is a firearm designed to deliver a high amount of energy, while reducing the potential for life-threatening injury.
Police were called to the town after reports of a concern of welfare.

Fire crews were called to a youth club in Cornwall after an automatic fire alarm went off.
It sounded just before midnight on Wednesday in Treyarnon, but after checking the scene, fire crews found no blaze.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "Automatic fire alarms can be set off for a number of reasons, from burning toast, to steam, to an electrical fault. It's best to be careful".
