A Cornish model maker is finally unveiling his masterpiece - a 13ft (3.9m) long replica of aircraft carrier, HMS Ark Royal.
It is taking pride of place at a national modelling exhibition at Alexandra Palace in London this weekend.
Dave Fortey, from Falmouth, who used to get mornings off school to see the real thing coming into port, built the model.
He started the project in 1992, and says the model is "fully functional".
"She has eight water tanks, 16 ballast pumps, the radars rotate, the lift operates and the aircraft propellers rotate, and various other bits and pieces."
Despite his achievement though, Mr Fortey says he is in no hurry to begin another major project.
"Never again" he says "I would never built anything of this size again, it takes up a lot of space amongst other things."

Holly Rogers is one of six people at the hospital who have been trained to screen and advise patients on lifestyle problems including smoking and drug and alcohol addiction.
The hospital is the first in the South West to have volunteers working in this way.
Holly says she finds it "very rewarding".
"I was a bit of a prolific hospital case, certainly throughout the last five years. I feel like I was a bit of a nuisance so I just wanted to give it back and make amends with society and say I did that yes, but I'm here now trying to make it better."

A police dog called Holly has helped officers find a stash of cannabis in Devon.
The canine, who came from Dorset, was "instrumental in achieving some great results", police said.
She found the stash near an address in Torre.
Officers also stopped and searched a group of men which resulted in a knuckleduster being found.
The search was part of Operation Roxbury - an ongoing initiative designed to remove drugs from the streets of Torquay, which involves officers from across Torbay.
Today will be breezy with sunshine and scattered heavy showers, with hail at times and perhaps some sleet over Dartmoor and other high ground.

Rural campaigners are meeting in Devon later to discuss concerns over the number of new homes being built in the countryside.
The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) says too may greenfield sites are at risk of development and is challenging the housing targets set by local councils.
Others though, support developments like Cranbrook - a new town being developed in East Devon.
Katherine Jones says it's been a "godsend" for her.
"We wouldn't have been able to get on the ladder if it wasn't for Cranbrook being here. Yes there's a lot of it [new house building] and it goes up really quickly but people can't get on the ladder without it being here."
The government says it's working with local authorities to make sure "sensible decisions" are made on where to build new houses.
The law change would give police new powers to restrict offenders who are not known to the victim.
