Residents of Carnkie were woken by the blast in the early hours of this morning.
The injured man was trapped under rubble after a first explosion ripped off the side of the bungalow.
Another explosion spread debris up to 200m away according to witnesses.
A council contractor has apologised to residents of Gunnislake in South East Cornwall after the main road was closed for resurfacing work - resulting in a big diversion for motorists.
The closure will also affect thousands of motorists who use the route each day to cross the Devon/Cornwall border at Newbridge.
A 25 mile (40km) diversion will be created that will take drivers up towards Launceston to cross the River Tamar, but some people say it will add one hour to their journey times.

Cornwall Council's being criticised for what's being described as an "extortionate" charge for creating disabled parking bays in residential areas.
Disability campaigners are backing a group of councillors that say it must urgently review its policy of charging nearly £4,000 per space.
The authority bills individuals the full amount, while other authorities charge far less - or nothing at all.
The council says the bill is for a traffic regulation order, advertising, public consultation and painting the new bay on to the road.
There have been reports of an explosion at a property in a Cornish village.
An eyewitness report suggests one person has been injured.
Emergency services were called to Carnkie at around 00:30.
Firefighters from Helston, Falmouth and Tolvaddon attended.
An investigation will take place later to determine the cause of the explosion.
Clearing up will continue in parts of North Devon this morning after heavy rain led to flooding on Sunday.
The Jack Russell Inn at Swimbridge near Barnstaple was under 1ft (0.3m) of water.
Regulars spent yesterday helping to clear up the mess.
In Muddiford the efforts of local people helped protect the local pub, but Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said the water had "created its own flow through people's gardens and into peoples houses".
Muddiford resident Darren Knill said the water "just kept rising" causing "chaos" in the area.
"I reckon it was up to about 5ft (1.5m). I haven't seen anything like it since I was a kid."
The body of a man from Devon has been found on a beach in Thailand.
Martin Wood, 48, from Crediton was visiting the western part of the country when his family reported him missing last month. His cause of death is unknown.
